Not every HO scale Diesel Locomotive should be run with Sound! Keep it simple!
The Soundtrax 882004 decorder diagram has 4 optional Diesel body side marker lights 1.5voltage contact points to supply power from. As well as the normal front/rear +/- headlight power contact points for 12–14-volt Light Bulbs. Sadly, the additional Marker Lights after careful soldering of each, did not Light Up! The Diesel sound choices worked fine. My ATLAS HO FM H15-44 featured front & rear side marker lights which turn red or green with the change of direction. Soundtraxx Economi decoder review
This is an excellent choice of sound decoders if you are interested in buying one. It is simple in design, inexpensive and has very excellent sounds. I like it because it has 5 different prime mover sounds that can be programmed by a simple CV change and a grade crossing signal activated by a function button on your DCC controler. All air horns (or steam whistles) sound so much better than the 1st generation of Tsunami decoders and so do the bells and air compressors. For the price, these are are a great value. A high performance sound decoder.
The Soundtraxx Economi Eco-PNP Diesel decoder is the best sound you can get and at a very reasonable price. When hooked up to a one or two watt baffled speaker, you will be amazed at how much sound it can produce. The motor control is exceptional and programming options are easy to understand and use. Typical Soundtraxx excellence

Great DCC sound decoder
Used these DCC sound decoders to replace ESU decoders that failed to perform properly and eventually failed. Soundtraxx has ALWAYS performed beautifully and are easy to install and custom program. Econami Lives Up To It's Name
Econami decoders by Soundtraxx live up to their name. They are an economically priced version of the Soundtraxx Tsunami2 decoder. Most commonly used features of Tsunami2 decoders are included in Econami decoders at a lower price point. A comparison chart between the two product lines can be found on the Soundtraxx website.
Most of my locomotives are grouped together in consists so I usually install a Tsunami2 decoder in the lead locomotive of a consist and Econami decoders in the trailing locomotives. Great Soundtraxx Decoder
I have put this decoder in a Bachmann RS3 that had one of the sound value decoders in it. I wanted to upgrade the sound in my engine which I did with this decoder. Plug and play DCC
Easy board replace with easy soldering. Programmed easily using JMRI for CV changes that match up best with my prototype. Excellent speed control and sound effects. Utilized a sugar cube speaker to save space.

In my opinion SoundTraxx is the best value
I don't know of a better mobile decoder. It's a straight forward install with 4 extra lighting ports so you have lots of opportunities for extra lights. They have lots of tech tips on utube so programming is a snap. And they supply a Keep Alive plug in port on the board so installing a current keeper is a no brainer. I'm converting all my locos to soundtraxx including my Broadway Limiteds which eliminated all their running problems. Low cost - great sound
In my opinion the best decoder on the market for the money. great sound and effects and easy installation. The only minor drawback is there are only 5 prime movers to choose from but that is more than offset by the lower price.Vollständige Rezension lesen
