Great receiver with lots of functions

User manual contains detailed operating instructions; however, requires considerable study to master. Battery operated (no built-in charger), but most users will want to purchase a 4V to 6V DC "wall wart" with "exact Plug" to fit this receiver model. Beware, not just any 6V DC power supply "plug" will fit this model. Last shortwave radio made in Japan.

Radio is well made and sensitivity is good (not as good as ICF 2010 or ICF SW07) but still quite good. Sound is reasonable due to its small size. Synch locks very well. Power adapter issues

The manufacturer does not include a 6V AC/DC power adapter. Most of the 6V power adapters I tried induce a lot of hum (60 Hz noise). I also tried a Radio Shack filtered and stabilized power supply and I still got an annoying high frequency background noise. I presently use an 8V GRUNDIG power adapter but this is not safe since it exceeds the 6V recommended. The display is poorly lit and small.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Useless SW

Sw doesn't work. There is no manual tuning. Difficult to find SW stations. Older type is better

Good little radio easy to move around.

I think this radio is well made. One problem I do have with it is the time does not show when the radio is on. Overall this is a good product I would rate it a five.

Not my perception of Multiband radio

Has no reception between 108 and 150 MHz. That range is Aircraft, Marine, Police and Weather. All useful when traveling. The speaker is too small and sounds tinny.

Sleep function only works at night

This transistor radio presumes to tell me that I cannot have the radio turn off automatically during the day. No day naps for me! SAD
