The Camera That Does So Much

This camera does a lot. It is easy to use one you read the manual and practice, because it is complicated at first. I probably won't do half the stuff this camera does, but the choices are many. Example: several ways to focus or have the camera track a face. Several ways for the camera to set aperture and shutter speed (center weight, spot, and other view options). It has manual, full auto, aperture priority, speed priority, program, scenes, etc.
I always had Nikon cameras (F3, Nikomat) and what sold me on this one was the electronic view finder, which you can adjust to your eye sight so you can remove your glasses when viewing. The electronic view finder is a big help when the sun is on the rear LCD screen.

Great enthusiast compact camera with many SLR type features.

I bought this used, about 5 years old I think, in immaculate condition with unused accessories and original box etc. I believe it is the last of the line and top-of-range Nikon compact of this type.r>
Bought this camera to replace my previous good but more limited Nikon compact as this one has RAW and exposure bracketing which I needed to dip my toes into HDR processing. When combining these features it is saving ten image files, five of them about 25MBytes so saving is a little slow even with fast memory card. I was aware of that and can live with it as I am not a sports or action photographer and bracketing is no use in those situations. I like to take my time on landscape photography so this camera suits me well. The internal electronic viewfinder is a good bonus and the fully articulating screen is great for awkward/creative angles. Is good to have a proper thread on lens for filters and hoods.

Zoom range is good/sensible/usable with anti-shake and image quality is excellent, sharp lens with F2 aperture and electronic ND filter handy for controlling depth of field.

Have also started to use this camera for making Youtube videos and the microphone socket and articulating screen are ideal for that.

Very pleased with this camera and if you have similar requirements to me of a camera without lugging an SLR kit around, can find a good one, then I recommend it.Vollständige Rezension lesen

One of the best compact digital point-and-shoot cameras with loads of features.

The P7800 is a major upgrade from the original P7000. It operates very much like the P7000, so it's easy to make the transition. The P7000 takes excellent high quality photos, but the P7800 should be even better with higher MP, faster lens, and more controls (if you want them). It's an ideal camera for travel--lightweight, easy to use, suitable for almost any lighting condition, compact, and user-friendly.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Nikon Coolpix P7800

Easy to use with excellent image clarity, contrast sharpness, and color rendition. Viewfinder handy in bright sunlight. Although only 7x zoom, pictures handle enlarging well, especially if you use the “Fine” quality setting. JPEGs good straight out of camera. I prefer to use the “Vivid” setting. Hits the Sweet Spotsfor Me

This is the best compact camera with an electronic viewfinder. Excellent 7X zoom , Nikon optical perfection and clear well-marked controls. Native color balance is classic Japanese blueish unlike my Canon G15 which hits the reds.
My only regret is it lacks a more more modern sensor's low light performance but it does have that fast f2.0 lens.
Fitted the aftermarket "eyelid" to protect the lens, because this will be a pocket camera.

Flexible performer

Great small "point and shoot", but with the capability of a more "professional" level camera. Controls and programming are easy to use and the image quality is excellent, particularly when shooting RAW format.Vollständige Rezension lesen

The Great Little Camera that Could

As a professional photographer I really enjoy all of the capabilities of this camera. It's the one that I usually bring on vacation. I've even done impromptu photo shoots for friends and have had excellent results making prints as large as 30x40! Vollständige Rezension lesen

A great little point and shoot camera

This is an awesome camera. It's lightweight, and takes pictures that will stand up to any big professional camera out there. The camera has been updated, so for the price you can find one now, it is well worth the money. You can do as much, or as little as you want when you take your pictures, or video's. Don;t have time to fool with specific settings, just put it on auto, and it will take care of the rest. it's one of the best point and shoot cameras out there.Vollständige Rezension lesen

P7800, well worth the purchase

Great range of features that meet most of anybody's needs. For me, the addition of an actual viewfinder was perfect
