The Lighthouse Stamp Mount Cutter is a great product
Cutting the SHOWGARD BLACK MOUNT STRIPS has been a lot quicker, more accurate, and easier than I was expecting. I have used other brands and types of cutters, but the Lighthouse Stamp Mount Cutter with its Measuring Scale Bar has allowed me to trim and cut the mounts to the correct size.Vollständige Rezension lesen

My first stamp mount cutter.
I tried to research on the subject of stamp mount cutters and didn't find much to discern one brand as better than another. There seems to be about 4 or 5 brands, all essentially the same configuration, and prices range someplace around $22 to $28 (check prices and shipping charges to get totals or you could overpay). So I went with the German-made Lighthouse Cutter; I am now using it and pretty satisfied. There were absolutely no instructions on how to use it so I am still experimenting, cutting up a lot of mount strips and still not sure I am using it correctly. Looks like metal in the pictures but, except for the cutting blade, it is all constructed of plastic. Considering the small job I am asking it to do, it sure takes up a lot of space on my desk. Excellant for cutting your stamp mounts to size
Well worth spending the extra money. much better more precise and accurate cut than the 10 dollar one I got from Wal-Mart. Only complaint I have is its hard to see the numbers. great design - easy to use guage
This cutter is the best I have used ... good design features make it simple to use and it makes nice clean cuts every time. I like the sliding length guide, easy to read mm ruler on the front, and the lip that secures the mount strips. No problem cutting the smallest sized mounts from strips, and the larger bed allows for wider strips to accommodate all but the largest souvenir sheet mounts. Its a Sturdy and Dependable Product
At first when I received the cutter in the mail and put it together it seemed sturdy, but I wasn't sure. Well I will tell you, I am impressed. I spend a few hours a day using this product. It works well on most mounts like Mystic and any in those category but it also has no problem cutting some mounts from china made out of a much sturdier plastic. My concern was how long the blade would last before it was dull and needed to be thrown out. Well I have had this for over a year and I use it everyday and I have NEVER had a problem or a dull blade.

I would buy it again, for the money.
the "adjustable stop" for making multiple cuts works fine......if you have some adhesive tape to make it stay in the same place. Cheap plastic, good value, good cutting blade....and accurate.,
