This was an extremely hard movie to find that plays on USA dvd players.
Miranda Richardson was fabulous in the lead role.

Excellent movie. Great actors. This is based on a true story of the last woman executed in the UK.

Disturbing!!!

Dance With a Stranger is a film about Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in England. The true-to-life story of Ellis and her lover is difficult to watch because it is so brilliantly acted that the viewer becomes an eye-witness to what actually happened. The "affair" they had was doomed from the get-go and it plunges to murderous depths as the film unwinds. It is a spectacular movie but viewers should prepare themselves to squirm.
