One great ride…

What a terrible shame that Toole took his life. What an homage to him that his mother was finally able to find a publisher that would back this extraordinary Pulitzer winning craziness. It’s a great, great ride; can’t thank you enough, Mr. Toole.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Unusual

I have so much to say about this book, for one thing it was written by my husbands cousin, loosely based on his family. John Kennedy Toole was my mother in laws brothers son, her maiden name was Toole. We were so thrilled when he won the Pulitzer, however he wasn’t there to see his work become such a success.
His mother Thelma was going to have it published no matter what it took, and of course she did. If it wasn’t for her tenacity it would be forgotten in an attic. I have read a letter from her to my mother in law saying that John got his talent from her and only her. I could go on and on.

A Classic

I went to college in New Orleans ( Tulane ) 1957-1961. I wondered what the local New Orleans was like. This classic and national prize winner gives you a very funny picture!
