Still a good and useful piece of test equipment.
This is a good basic spectrum analyzer. It offers good amplitude accuracy once calibrated and so is useful for accurate level setting and testing. Frequency accuracy is good also, and drift is very minimal after approx. 60 minutes warmup time.
I like that it is an older CRT unit rather than a newer LCD/FFT based unit because sweeps are virtual instantaneous, even at maximum span.
The tracking generator works very well and I have used it for testing of filters with good success. I've also used it along with a directional coupler for antenna return-loss i.e. VSWR measurements and it works very well.
One drawback is that the minimum Resolution Bandwidth is 20khz and so close-in testing isn't possible.
These units are no longer in production but good used ones are available.
The BK 2630 was also marketed as the Hameg HM5011 and the Atten AT5011. Operating & service information is still available.
If you find one of these in good condition then it is a worthwhile addition to your service bench. Vollständige Rezension lesen
