Garmin Forerunner 305 still shines
After burglars stole the Garmin Forerunner 305 I purchased 8 or 10 years ago, I decided to buy another despite also owning a Polar M400 GPS sports watch and a New Balance GPS sports watch. A disadvantage of the Garmin Forerunner 305 is it is not suitable for wearing as a normal wrist watch, since the battery life is only about 10 hours My Polar M400 and New balance sports watches need be charged only about once a month. Features I like on the Garmin Forerunner 305 I have not found on the others is user-selectable number of fields on each of two main displays or screens and user-selectable type data for each field. For example, you can decide to have just two fields on a screen, such as time and distance, or you can expand the number of fields on a screen or display to three or four and have pace and heart rate also displayed. You can have your pace displayed as miles per hour or minutes per mile. Pace can be average minutes per mile since the start of your current run or bicycle ride or current pace. The Garmin Forerunner 305 can display a map of each run or bike ride; I have not found that on the Polar M400 or New Balance sports watches.The bright white display of the Polar M400 is much easier to see than the grey LCD display on the Garmin Forerunner 305 or New Balance. The Garmin Forerunner 205 is identical to the Garmin Forerunner 305 except the 205 has no heart rate monitor and comes in blue and silver grey rather than maroon and silver grey.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Oldie but goodie
Yes, this Forerunner 305 is a very older model, but I had one when it was new, have loved it for years. After the battery life on my old one was declining,I replaced the battery which brought it back to life. But recently it got too wet and couldn't recover. While contemplating what newer model of Garmin I want to buy to replace my old one, I bought this used 305 to use in the meantime, and works great. Took it on a 16 mile/3+ hour trail run and battery life was fine.

I would definitely recommend the Garmin forerunner 305.
PRO: From giving distances to speed to heart rates to sunrise and sunset times and much more this product does everything it claims to do.
CON: The forerunner 305 is no longer supported by Garmin. So if you have a problem with the watch you're on your own.
The battery life is about 8 hours.
For tracking cadence you need a separate monitor that syncs with the watch.

Garmin 305
This GPS is about 20 years behind in operating technology.Brand new one's work for while then suddenly for no rythme or reason just STOPS functioning or being able to hold a battery charge.
Had 5 of them.

This older model does NOT requre a smartphone for operation. Works fine.
