Best in Price Range
The Uniden R8 is a top notch detector. I've only had one for a few weeks and it's already saved me twice. I've had an Escort Solo for almost 30 years and it has served me quite well, but I have to say the the R8 is a better unit. In all fairness, the age of the Escort has been working against it for some time now as it contains 30 year old circuitry, however, the R8 performs much better on screening out junk signals and range. I believe that it conceals its presence to Radar detector detectors used by many law enforcement agencies as well. The range is incredible which is probably the most important feature among the plethora of features. There are so many that I haven't even begun to grasp them all. Quiet when customized for lacation
High Rated customizable detector with nice mounting options. It's larger than most but not a deal-breaker.

Extremely easy to use
R8 settings was very good out of the box, however I did make some small adjustments based on my area.

Item damage and missing parts. Not as described.
Product was missing one of the mounting attachments and the other mounting attachment was damaged….. suction cup was ripped up like it was taken off very carelessly. Great radar detector
Works much better than R3, especially with MRCD radars. The auto mute function works very well and exactly where I set the point.
