RENTABLE at best, but fun for 2 days
This is definately a 2 day rent-to-beat game. I see no point in buying this game. I just rented it and within under 12 hours of playtime, I beat it. I did not do all the side missions, but the main story does not take too long.
The graphics are great and gameplay is fun. You can play as the Autobots (good guys) or the Decepticons (bad guys). I played the Decipticons' missions first, which made going back to the Autobots' so much easier. One cool feature is the slow-motion when you destroy an opposing bot (kinda like the movie 300). It really makes things look cool. The enviornment is very big and almost everything is fair game. You can even climb buildings and throw cars.. although, there really is too much need for throwing cars.
All in all, great game to rent, missions are pretty fun with great graphics. I spent $4 renting this game for 2 nights and I got all that I wanted out of it. If you liked this review, plese vote "yes" below. Thanks!Vollständige Rezension lesen...
Wish this would Transform into a better game.
This is a fun enough game. You get to blow up lots and lots of stuff, but that's the best part of the game. The missions all seem disconnected and the controls are more cumbersome than your usual '360' game. The bonus content is largely dull. With all of this game's hype I figured it was going to absolutely awesome, but it's just good. A must have for Transformers fans, but not a super game for the rest of us. Transformers the game is a rushed game tie-in to the spectacular summer blockbuster. What makes it even more pathetic is that the Atari Transformers game released a few years prior on previous gen systems, played better, looked better, and was 10x more fun despite it being based on the new Armada tv shows versus the old classic material. Go try the old Transformers game out, it's a nice gem and a great value since you can probably get it on ebay for $10-20.
Let's keep this review short and stick to the points:
The ability to play as nearly every character from the movie is cool
Playing as decepticons is nice
Gameplay is repetitive and absolutely rushed: Each level is an open sandbox world a la GTA except all you can do in it is smash stuff, collect cubes, and play stupid side fetch games. The openness of the worlds is just not fleshed out, which leads to all the main missions (which take place in the sandbox levels) all the more boring and tedious.
Guns are pointless in this game- nearly every robot has a shield so you just end up running up and punching them
The driving physics are laughable, you can literally make a tight 90 degree turn on nitro by tapping the handbrake.
Collision detection/physics are just a mess- as a car you can get stuck floating on debris or behind junk as you blasting boost to plow through.
Cutscenes are unpolished- the actors from the film look nothing like their screen conterparts.
Smoke and fire particle effects could have been done on PSone.
It's really not fun to bash a game, but there hasn't been a rushed movie game tie-in this bad since Enter the Matrix. It's a shame too, because I loved the movie and the original TV show and enjoyed a game I played 3-4 years ago A LOT more. It was more impressive graphically and gameplay wise too which is ridiculous given that it was 3-4 YEARS AGO! Thank god, I only rented this game. Avoid this one at all costs.

So-so, but good gameplay
The basic premise of the game is the same as the film's. The classic Transformers battle between good robots and evil robots has spilled over to planet Earth as the two warring sides search frantically for an artifact known as the AllSpark. The AllSpark is essentially the life force for all Transformers, which explains why they'd want to get it back. Sam Witwicky (voiced with appropriate "gee whiz!"-ness by Shia LaBeouf) is an average teenager who happens to hold the key to finding the AllSpark. From there, it's a race for both sides to find Sam and get the AllSpark. There might be more to the movie's plot than what is presented here, and you should really hope there is, because otherwise, we're all in for one exceedingly boring film. With the exception of a few bouts of basic dialogue between Sam and the various Transformers (including veteran TV series voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker reprising their roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron with about as much enthusiasm as you could hope for), there's almost no story to drive the game forward. transformers the game
So this games controls are in my opinion, much better than the controls on the second installment of transformers. i like the feel of the controls, and the aiming system is far better, however. once transformed into the car, the controls are a bit sloppy, i play driving games also so maybe its just that. but it feels a bit weird to me, like the cars all over the place.
I do love that you can pick to be either good or bad. and you can destroy prety much everything you see in the game, building, play grounds, etc...
Some of the achievments can be cumbersom but the game over all is lots of fun and child friendly.
for the price you cant go wrong...

the game look better than most licensed products
I got the game for my 6year old. He loves the game just due to the fact it has robots. The best review i can provide for the game is just what i read on gameinformer.com from what i have seen while he plays the game their review is right on. the only part i have played is the driving aspect. the controls are loose and hard to keep the car on the correct tract. even harder when switching between robot form and vehicle form. now if you ask me if i will play the game again yes ofcourse i will just because my kid loves to play it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
An Alright fun game
Well the game isnt as bad as some people say. Its not the best game out there but it gets the job done. Sometimes the missions are a little confusing and you dont know exactly what to do. As well as when fighting the lock-on feature doesnt always work how you would want it. I find myself trying to pick up cars a lot and never being able to. Too bad the game cannot transform.
I loved the movie but the game not so much. Wreaking destruction is fun for a while, but it would have been great to play online against other transfomer hopefuls. This is a single player game only. It is fun to transform and drive around but the fighting system is pretty basic, if you run into a problem during the game all you have to do is pick up a car,tree,pole..etc., and throw it at whatever you are fighting and you will win. fun, fun, fun!
Great Game! Fun, and easy! We really like the game at my house! I could easily spend hours playing this game, because you get hooked on it, quickly. We love transformers, and the game does it justice! You can tell which movie it follows, and the characters looks amazing!I would recommend this game to anyone, especially the Transformer fans out there. Transformers: xbox 360 game
I have a 9 year old who this was bought for. He absolutely loves it! Graphics are great. Some missions are pretty hard, especially for younger children. Takes some practice.
