Great trailer brake controller for a reasonable price

Just bought a 2008 Toyota Sequoia and needed to get it set up to haul my Pop-Up Camper. This unit has all the features that are really needed (accelerometer operation and fully adjustable braking) in a small, easy to mount and unobtrusive package. I don't have a lot of places to mount a brake controller on this vehicle and this compact little controller was ideal. Wiring it up was easy as Toyotas have a brake controller connector in place on all their trucks that have the towing package-which is pretty much all of them! Hopkins sells a pre wired connector specifically for Toyota (and many other popular makes and models) that would have made the job ridiculously easy, but I just soldered the wires from the Toyota male connector to the wires on the controller to avoid the wait and added cost of the custom connector. This resulted in a similar quick disconnect and was a simple job for those used to dealing with automotive wiring. Just returned from a week long camping trip and this unit worked flawlessly. It was very easy to dial in the braking force while driving-Just start out at 20% and push the + - buttons to fine tune until the trailer braking feels right. Nice unit, user instructions lacking

Installation is simple. The unit looks nice, the control buttons are easily accessed and the display has good readability. Where it's lacking is in the documentation - full explanations of the various functions and their adjustments, specifically. For instance, the manual says the sensitivity function 'makes your trailer braking response more or less sensitive'. To what, exactly? Are they applied faster at lower deceleration, or harder, or both? And how does that differ from the brake power setting? The ' Vertical slide for manual override' is identified in the instructions, but it's not described anywhere. What's it used for - preventing rollback when stopped on hills? And does 'slide' imply its application is variable? I realize this isn't rocket science, but the user is left to more trial and error than necessary. Stoping, the easy way.

Excellent ride.

I had been having problems with the cheap time delay crap. I bought the agility from ebay and all my problems were solved. Instantly my brakes stopped locking up and had was able to make adjustments on the controller without have the brakes lock up. What a relief to know my trailer brakes work. When it is adjusted correctly i don't even know the trailers behind me. No jerking. No banging when i let off the brake after stopping. Excellent ride.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Ordered 4/30 and in mailbox 5/2. Very fast. Unit is of good quality. Only slight negative. .....bracket could be shorter so unit doesn't hang so low. Needs to hug bottom of dash better.

Works great. Truck stops like I does when towing nothing. Set brakes at 23% and woken breaking, it doesn't feel like trailer is pushing. Even when it is raining. Good unit...

Good breaks a must

I had this installed. It was a display unit and was missing the cord that plugs into it and I had to go to nappa and buy one. other than that it works great and stopped camper trailer on a dime.
