Excellent all round entertainment

I had previously seen this episode on TV and just wanted to get a copy of it in DVD to go through at my own leisure. The second time around of viewing this particular adventure it was better than ever who says repeats are boring!!

Have the producers of Top Gear been reading my reviews?

I've reviewed quite a few "Top Gear" DVDs for eBay now, and when I reviewed "Great Adventures Volume 1" (Polar/US specials) all those months ago, I wrote the following:

"...surely someone from the production team could have took some time out to record a commentary and tell us exactly what was real and what was fake, because let's face it, a lot of "Top Gears" famous challenges are "bigged up" for the cameras."

Thankfully, it seems like producer Andy Wilman has been reading my reviews, because for Volume 2 of the "Top Gear" specials (the Botswana and Vietnam shows), he and most of the production team (though sadly not any of the main three presenters) team up for a commentary track. Also, both discs have some deleted scenes, while the Botswana special is even longer than the televised version anyway and is presented as the 'Directors Cut' with several additional scenes. The BBC and 2Entertain it seems have finally been listening to me and have really started to give the series the respect it deserves, ramping up the special features on each disc. Let's hope they keep it up. And if you are out there reading this Andy, how about getting the three boys to do a commentary track. You were great and all, but I'd love to hear Clarkson do a DVD commentary, it'd be -bleeping- hilarious I'm sure!

A must for any "Top Gear" fan, even if you've already seen these episodes on Dave or BBC3 countless times already. And the extra features this time around make it an essential purchase for any serious fan of the show, especially those who are interested in the technical side of how it was all put together. TOP GEAR SPECIAL

I have to admit I have little or no interest in cars apart from the functionality of getting me from A to B. However I am now a Top Gear addict and bought this after watching the Vietnam special on TV. Absolutely hilarious footage of their trips in Botswana & Vietnam. Probably only bettered by the Reliant Robin episode. The 3 presenters work brilliantly together and I would highly recommend this DVD for Top Gear fans and newbies alike.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

once again its top gear at its very best... what more can i say, a super twin adventure set, buy it sit back and enjoy the boys.... clarkson.... hamster.... and cpt slow.........

Top Gear - The Great Adventures Vol.2 (DVD)

I bought this DVD for my son, as he is a huge Top Gear fan! Although I can't speak of it personally, my son says it it fantastic! A great gift for any Top Gear fan!!!

I love this DVD just like I love all top gear DVD's. I enjoy both of these episodes of top gear and they are some of my favroite

The top gear specials are all brilliant and are fun to watch and I would recomend watching them.
