Based on a horrible novel by Hemingway, but movie is nothing like the novel. First acting job for 19 year old Bacall, whom married 44 year old Bogart fell in love with during filming. A Classic for good reason

The fact that this DVD was made in 2003 of a 1946 movie is indication. A mere 3 weeks into filming, Bogie and Bacall fell in love. Seeing Walter Brennan is also a treat. Great music.
