Not as good as the later, 2007 Zodiac film...

This 2005 film is nowhere near as engaging as the 2007 Zodiac. First, the names of the characters in the actual events have been changed. If you are someone familiar with the case, this is a bit annoying. The drama with the inspector, his wife and the kid...well, it just all seems like distraction. Very slow movie!

This is a story of a serial killer in the bay area in the late 60's and 70's. Authorities from different counties (the homicides were in different counties) were having a hard time to compile all the evidence against one suspect. So a SF chronical newspaper cartoonist became obsessed in finding the killer. When DNA testing was available this century, the suspect was called but he died of a massive heart attack. I finished watching this movie last night. I'm not sure if I would recommend this movie to anyone, it was slow and with strong violence scenes. Thought and provoking.

The movie was interesting and thought provoking. A few eyebrows will be raised concerning the code cracking. It still was good enough to hold my interest.

Entertaining but more fictional than realistic.

The film is centered on a detective (Matt Parrish) who is totally consumed by finding the Zodiac killer and the destruction of his family by the ongoing investigation. It was a very good character study of the detective and the film had little to say about the Zodiac killer. If you are looking for facts about the killer do not watch this movie as you will be disappointed. COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER, BUT WORTH WATCHING

The film was pretty accurate, with what really happened in Vallejo, CA back then. I thought it could have been made a little more scary, but all in all it's a good movie about the Zodiac and wouldn't be a waist of your time to rent it and watch it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
