The Tailor of Panama (Blu-ray Disc, 2007)

Intrigue mixed with occasional humor.

Pierce Brosnan portrays a dissolute spy who's been sent to Panama by MI6 for a last chance to redeem himself. This presents an opportunity for Brosnan to satirize his own image in his former roles as James Bond. He blackmails a fellow expatriate Briton tailor into prying for secrets concerning the Canal from his customer, the President of Panama. This leads to complications between the tailor, played by Geoffrey Rush, and his wife, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. This is because she is an employee and confidant of the President. Rush is engaging and as sympathetic in this role as he was in The King's Speech. This film is a thoroughly engaging adaptation of a John Le Carre novel.Vollständige Rezension lesen
