A classic concert film

Not the best thing done by the 'Other Fab Four' but I do especially like the half hour version of the song, Dazed & Confused; and also John Henry Bonham's solo drum performance of the song, Moby Dick. Oh what the heck, it's a good flick, I just like the soundtrack CD, better. The film to me, was kind of amatuerishly done, even when I saw it on the big screen as a kid back the '70s, I felt the same way then. But as always, the music is always the best & that's really all that counts in my book. So buy CD too, while you're at it.

And don't stop there, buy the better DVD entitled simply as, Led Zeppelin as well. It's much better than this film footage & plus, more is added into that DVD of this live performance, of those 3 days Jimmy, John, Robert & Jonesy performed sold out shows there in Madison Square Garden.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

The Movie Remains the Same

When they finally get around to playing the mix seems all wrong, with Plant's vocals louder than Page's guitar. Certainly not what you would hear if you were in the audience. Later the soundtrack is better mixed and Page really plays some great guitar on "Since I've Been Loving You" and "Dazed and Confused". The question is how will he do on the climactic solo on "Stairway to Heaven". I hadn't seen this movie in so long I didn't remember. I can remember he didn't do so hot on it on the infamous Live Aid reunion set back in the 80's, but what can you expect, they were apparently just showing up and playing a few songs with very little if any rehearsal. Of course, the solo on the studio version is widely tauted as one of the greatest rock guitar solos of all time, but it is spliced together from the best parts of different takes. Live is a different matter. Here Page starts off a little tentatively at first but in the middle gets into a little interplay with John Bonham and it starts sounding pretty good. However, he seems to run out of gas at the end, and instead of coming to a climactic climax he kind of limps toward the end, flubbing a couple of notes.
But enough about the music, how about their looks. What's up with John Paul Jones' hairdo? And what about Page's "wizard" suit? How about when Page ages in the little Dazed&Confused video. Is he looking like the old man yet? Getting close I suppose, got the white hair anyway. But mainly, what's up with Plant's pants? Jesus man, put on some baggy hip-hop jeans or something. I guess all the little tennyboppers were all exited seeing his "package" on display. Looks like he's been taking some of Smilin' Bob's all-natural formula for a bigger "manhood". But he only took half the capsule. I could forward him some of the emails I get all the time wanting to make me bigger.
All in all, it's great though, it's Led Zeppelin, one of my favorite all time rock bands. Being an old geezer I bought their first album when it first came out and I think it's about their best. The main reason I got this DVD was I got a great price when nobody else bid on it. Now I'm gonna look for a great deal on the How the West Was One DVD. This is THE BEST Led Zeppelin DVD out there. Led Zeppelin The Song Remains The Same in concert and beyond, is one of the BEST Led Zeppelin concert caught on stage 1973 Madison Square Garden fans should NOT MISS. Some of the BEST hits of all time are perform on stage song like, Stairway to Heaven, Dazed and Confused, Since i've been loving you, Rock & Roll, Rain Song, No Quarter and more. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant is a mindblowing combination when they perform on stage. Page ripping all the chords when playing with his twin guitar in Stairway to Heaven is really amazing. Even today it looks very good due to the fact it was shot and film by a panavision camara like in the movies, sharp picture and sound. A Beautiful combination of rock and gutsy blues. My Soul Is Singing.....

What can I possibly say about these three spectacular dvds! The Cars get you dancing, awesome dvd! Led Zeppelin is an icon.....totally takes you back.....saw this on a midnight show when I was in high school! Music gets you singing and playing the air guitar! ha And Pink Floyd, The Wall! Overall A Very Good Concert

I would have liked a little less fill-in such as people trying to get into the concert and other distracting waste of video. The concert was very good but I would have liked a few more Led Zeppelin songs in the concert.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Led Zeppelin DVD Song Remains The Same

I bought this DVD because my boyfriend loves Led Zeppelin and he plays in a band called Slyngshot Harry and also plays a Gibson Les Paul. Led Zeppelin's music is always great and to be able to watch them while they perform is even better. I also bought him the t-shirt to match the cover of the DVD. I love this classic and rare Madison Square Garden LEd Zeppelin concert! This item is now out of print and very difficult to find, so when I found it on Ebay I had to have it! I'm a big Zep fan and alway will be, it brings back great memories of when I was learning to play guitar and great memories of those times in general.
