THE ROAD SHOW VERSION IS BOSS
I don't usually write reviews but I have to say that I had received this DVD set of two discs well packaged and in a timely manner.
As a retired MM1; the story reminds me of the past stationed in the far east and having been obligated to train some sailors of the Philippines. So I had to have this for my collection.

Sand Pebbles (Steve McQueen) are "TOP SHELF"
Steve McQueen, in my opinion, was the greatest actor of all time....In every movie he made...he is bound and determined to do what he believes what is right..despite the opposition...and you can't help rooting for him...The coolest cat ever.....This particular movie is filled with everything a good movie should have...Pulls at many emotions...Other actors provide excellent performances as well....Definitely one to have in the old dvd collection...5 STARS...Vollständige Rezension lesen

Great Intro to an era of history rarely taught in schools.

perfect title and great story

Outstanding beyond any negativity.

THE SAND PEBBLES
very nicely done version. Full length and provides the old theater experience at home. There is the initial dark screen overture (full length during a typical theater seating) playing parts of all the music within the movie itself - followed by the first half the feature movie - followed by a several minutes dark screen "INTERMISSION" with music fomr the movie playing - followed by teh 2nd half of movie - and ending movie credits...
