A Classic For those who Desire to Sew Wearable Art
This is the second purchase I have made of this book, It is a wonderfully illustrated and detailed example of "wearable art" in terms of techniques and examples of quilted vests and jackets.
The author shows many examples and styles of the ever popular log cabin jacket or vest. She provides a step by step instruction for sizes from Small to X-Large. It is possible to vary the length and neckline of the vests and jacket so the author offers quite a bit of flexibility in style. She offers helpful hints as far as design and fabric color placement to make the jacket more appealing. Barbara has become quite proficient in her original design of this jacket and actually successfully sold her completed products in high-end boutiques in California. I am not an experienced quilted but I found her instructions and story about how she got started in this business quite entertaining and easy to understand. I purchased the second book because it was a signed first edition and expect this book to become very desirable and recognized too for those involved in fabric art construction if it isn't already!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

What a great book to create you own work of art. The patterns & directions are easy to follow to create your own work of art that will last for years. It's a great book for the quilter's library as a sourcebook on quilted clothing. Quilted clothing will never go out of style & create a style of your own is admired my many.
