Gripping - and deeply moving

I loved this book. It delves into the minds of characters who are not normally depicted in fiction and tackles issues we tend to overlook. Archie gives us an insight into mental health problems which could effect numerous people but we generally choose to ignore them. He's a difficult character but the author describes him with such subtletly that we sympathise with him and grow immensely fond of him. There are other characters in the book who are also slightly on the edge of society - but we can understand them and why they're there. There are some beautiful pieces of writing too - and a lot of humour - as well as a plot that races along. Overall, reading this book made me feel more human - and you can't get much better than that.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
