The Jack in the Box (DVD)

A very nice move; a great concept, but someone could make it much better.

If I were he director this film would have been made very differently. So, as you can tell, there were parts that didn't meet my expectations. The concept was great. I like good horror so I'd like to have seen more killings. They didn't show much violence or blood- and I'm okay with that. I didn't really like the sets and I'd have used less light. The camera work was clean and the lighting fine, just very bright. But what made this really good was the concept. I hope more people will take this idea and run with it.
PLOT: In merry old France witches were mad at the government for killing practicing witched. So they created these boxes which would house a demon. Jump to about the 1970's (might have been more recently, you can't tell). I guy is sweeping a field with a metal detector. He finds a box. Takes it home and it kills his wife. Jump- again- to modern day. A guy moves to a little town in England to take a job as the curator of some weird little museum. He finds the same box. Nobody knows how it ever got there. He and a fellow employee. Open the box. Now the demon, dressed as a 'jack in the box' clown has to complete a series of murders. And the demon is going after his fellow employee and our hero is interested in her.
It's nice and worth seeing. The question was asked "Were the characters engaging?" I didn't really like the choice of the actors. But I would have type-cast different people. Better than expected!

Low budget English film with some predictable spooks common to other horror movies. But, it also contained quite a few twists.

Great movie!

The storyline is very good. The actor's do a great job. And the main horror character Jack, a 6'5" joker clown is AWSOME. The history plot is very important to this movie. I instant classic horror. Need to make more. Worth buying.Vollständige Rezension lesen
