Classic film

A splendid film based on a classic American novel.
Very true to the book , atmospheric and absorbing. This adaptation of the novel is superior than the remake with Robert Redford as Gadsby and Mia Farrow is superbly shallow as Daisy. An enjoyable trip down memory lane. and a film still relevant

I saw this when it was first released and loved it and didn't expect it would engage me as much as then - it was along time ago and I was young - but enjoyed it - and love the fact it is very faithful to the book. Superbly acted ,in character by Robert Redford & Mia Farrow, sumptuous sets and devine period clothes & cars, pure escapism does justice to Fitzgerald.

This film is Sterling! Wonderful Cast, Great storyline... Wow.
The Leonardo Remake is Spot-on. The new cast re enact the whole film exactly the same as the original, but with a Blast of modern Movie Technology to lift this movie Sky high.

The Great Gatsby

I happen to immensely enjoy this book. But the movie did not capture it the way that literature could, through Nick's eyes. The book also was not laden with cheesy horror music that was, needless to say, grotesquely misplaced.
But in the book, Nick adds a humanity and depth to the story that it would not have otherwise had. Nick's first-person standing is what makes the book good in the first place. It is what makes the characters human, what makes the events at all relevantly to each other, and even what makes Gatsby great. I feel that this was compromised in movie form.

Great product and good value for money

I bought this DVD as I had just recently read the book and was intrigued to see how the main characters were portrayed. I discovered that it had been a great purchase as I payed so little for the DVD and it was a great film that stayed true to the book! I would reccomend it to anyone.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
