The Reality of the Battle of the Atlantic.

The reality of the Battle of The Atlantic-well told, realistic, gritty and honest. Unforgettable. I had friends, gone now, who served on escort ships with those convoys, hunting U-boats.(curiously, they were in the Coast Guard, under control of the Navy in wartime). On the flip side, I was stationed in the service with two guys who had relatives in the Kriegsmarine, who served in U-Boats- one whose father was beached with an infection, remsined in France while his U-boat was sunk in its next patrol.

Great WW2 Naval Picture.

Based on the WW2 experiences of author Nicholas Monsarat who commanded a corvette. The Compass Rose and crew is fictional. The remainder is fairly true to history.

Waste of money

The DVD refuses to play in either a regular player or a Blu-ray player. The player screen says "invalid" and the TV screen says that it can't be played in our
