The Big 4 - Live from Sofia, Bulgaria

This is the DVD to get if you are a long term thrash metal fan or looking to find the roots of thrash metal.
The Big 4 of thrash metal consisting of;
Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth &
Anthrax.
Thrash metal doesn't get any better than these four bands!!!
The first disc contains performances from the legends Anthrax, Megadeth & Slayer.
My favourite, would be the face melting riffs of Megadeth. Songs such as; Hanger 18, In my darkest hour, and Symphony of Destruction.
On disc two, you will find a masterpiece of classics played with brute force by the gods of thrash themselves - Metallica!!!
To make things even more metal, All sixteen members of the Big 4 perform together in an earth shaking rendition of AM I EVIL!!!
I would have to say, that this is one of the best concerts I have seen on DVD, and even though I missed it live, I still felt the full impact of THE BIG 4!!!

Finally proves who is better Megadeth or Metallica

I just liked the title, your opinion may vary. 3 Bands steal this show Anthrax, Metallica and Megadeth. If you are wondering why i am not including Slayer is because the fans did not seem to like them as well, and I was very disappointed that they did not take the stage with Metallica Anthrax and Megadeth to do the song Am I Evil? James Hetfield states that he is bringing out all the bands but it was very clear to me that neither Tom Araya, nor Kerry King were on stage with the other bands. To me this was just disrespectful, so I now have a new reason to dislike Slayer.

Okay on to the other 3 acts. Anthrax performs with (original? depends on how familiar you are with the band) lead singer -- Joey Belladonna. Joey does a great job on all the classic Anthrax tracks except "Only". To me that is why Anthrax was a better stage band with John Bush than Joey, but that is just an opinion.

Megadeth is next. MINDBLOWING!!!! I have always liked Megadeth, but thought Metallica was a slightly better band; however, after watching both acts, I am not sure who is really better. Both Metallica and Megadeth took to the stage like they owned it. The Bulgaria crowd was even into both bands heavily. I do not think I have ever seen a better performance from Megadeth (and I have seen them a lot.)

Metallica is better (in some ways) than they have been in years (because of Bass Player Robert Trujillo), but there is one problem. Being a former Drummer, I could tell Lars was not playing the same Drum kit he had for years. There was certain tones (for lack of a better word) that felt like they were missing or altered. Again that is just one person's perspective. One other thing that I did not care for were the songs "Nothing Else Matters" and "Cyanide" (again that is just a personal preference). I would have preferred to see Lars with a Larger drum kit and performing the song "and Justice For All" in place of the two I disliked.

Overall a great concert! Buy it on DVD or Blu Ray because they are only scheduled (so far) to play one date in the USA.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

BEST METAL CONCERT EVER!!

IF YOU LIKE METAL MUSIC, THIS IS THE BEST CONCERT I WAS NEVER AT. YOU GET 5 HOURS OF THE TOP 4 METAL BANDS EVER. 1 HOUR EACH FOR ANTHRAX, MEGADETH, AND SLAYER. METALLICA CLOSES WITH A 2 HOUR SET. Big 4 Rocks!

Loved it! I'm partial to Megadeth out of the big 4, and they did not disappoint. Never did find out why 3 of the 4 members of Slayer didnt take part in the Am I Evil jam at the end of Metallica's set. Tom Araya looked kinda out of it anyway, missed a lot of vocals in their set. Awesome product

Four of the greatest thrash bands in history. Anthrax starts out with lots of energy. Megadeth playing their greatest. Slayer, what can you say, SLAYER!!!!!! Metallica always puts on a great show.

THE BIG 4 RULES

To have the BIG 4 all on one DVD is excellent! I wanted to see this concert in CA but it sold it or the scalpers were charging too much. There's nothing I don't like about this product.
