Rage - Battle of LA - Good work but not their best

I am a big Rage Against the Machine fan, so it was necessary for me to own this album. I actually purchased it off of ebay to replace the one I bought when it first came out (and I have since lost it). This isn't there best album, but it would be an almost impossible task to put together a better album than their first. This album does have its fine share of GREAT songs. Calm like a Bomb, Testify, Sleep Now in the Fire and my personal favorite Born of a Broken Man, are all great, great songs. Its a shame that they are no longer making music because quality albums are few and far between these days. And although this isn't their best work, it is still damn good and most definitely worthy of purchase.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

The Battle Of Los Angeles

I really like the lyrics. I think that Zack De La Rocha is a terrific and important lyricist. He reminds us that there are real life conditions in this world, and everything is not always okay. He reminds us that we should really take action to change the things that we do not like in the world.
The music is also good.

Rage Against the Machine does it again

Most people will tell you that around the 3rd album, any band with prmonient fame will begin to lose talent and get lost in the money and popularity the ground comes with. Not Rage Against the Machine. I will give that the overall CD is not as great as their debute or Evil Empire but tracks like Sleep Now in the Fire and Guerilla Radio save this from being a St.Anger repeat.

Now throw this bad boy in, turn up the radio and bump this classic CD that helped defines a generation of rock.

Very agressive, heartfelt music with good messages.

This album defined what rage was and will always be.It is sometimes hard for progressive themes to be put forth in a hard alternative style, but Zach and his lyrics made it happen. Was a great band, socialy concious, and hard rock.So much energy.and that energy was carried right into Audioslave with Morrello and the band when Zach stepped out into the world to put hands on issues he cared about.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great CD!

I love Rage Against the Machine! I was always a casual fan, until just recently when I started listening to them a little more seriously and more often. While I may not agree on some of their political messages, I rarely pay attention to the lyrics anyway, as their music is some of the best rock and roll music in the past decade. This is a killer debut album, and it's a shame that they didn't release more albums.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Battle of Los Angeles - R.A.T.M.

Great album. No way of getting around it. Tom Morello's unique guitar sounds excite the ear and soul. Tim Commerford's deep bass grooves display energy and beauty. Brad Wilk's drum beats keep all ears entertained and listeing while frontman, Zach de la Rocha raps about political issues and other topics.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
