Tecsun PL-380, all it's cracked up to be
I'd been looking for an inexpensive radio with some short wave capability for night-stand listening. This little gem filled the bill. I read many reviews of it on various websites and all seemed praiseworthy of the radio.
Some even likened it to the quality seen in considerably more expensive radios.
I wasn't disappointed. It's very nice. Easy to operate, solidly built, and loaded with features I'm still finding out about with a decent manual included.
It's easy to setup. Easy to tune. And rechargeable batteries give you about a week of listening, left on 24 hours a day. And it has a built-in charger!
It comes with a modest carrying case and an extra antenna for SW and a surprisingly decent sounding set of stereo headphones. Very impressive there since that's always a letdown.
And more importantly, the price of under $45 is astounding.
Also, I have to praise the company from Hong Kong who got it to me within 10 days when it was estimated to arrive in about a month.
I highly recommend this radio if you're looking for a good radio with lots of features at a great price.

Very nice radio
This nice little radio performs really well. The reception on fm is superb and it finds stations I never heard with my old radio. The sound quality is absolutely top quality, but of course it depends on the reception.

Great little radio

Easy to use and high quality
Like the size, quality of reception and controls of this radio. I use it daily while working around the house and garden - have no problem hearing the radio from a distance of 20 to 30 feet. Very capable little radio.
Only took six days to arrive and survived the journey. The FM and MW reception is great, LW not as good but the SW is brilliant considering its size. The ETM function works well with SW as it saves all stations available and then allows you to scroll through them quickly. The bandwidth selecting button really does work allowing broadcasts to be honed in on.
The speaker sounds OK, it's not a boom box but is ideal for a small room. The sound with headphones is better.
Ability to use Ni-Mh batteries is handy, haven't tried the charging feature yet.
Able to input frequencies directly is also handy on SW as there is a lot of range to scroll through to reach a desired frequency otherwise.
Build quality feels up to the use this sort of radio will get, and the stand makes it more stable with the aerial extended.

A Small Gem in Portable Radios
Loud and crystal clear sound as expected. ETM is a very helpful option if you travel (it can peak up all the nearby stations in no time), realy cheap (VFM), easy to use and operate. FM is fantastic, AM has a decent reception(didn't care about the others though)Vollständige Rezension lesen

Tecsun PL-380 - Features + Cost = VALUE
The Tecsun PL-380 handheld radio has the features of a radio costing easily twice the price. Best all-purpose portable radio I've ever owned.

A fantastic multi band radio
the tecsun pl380 is a little marvel i tested it for auto tuning against the larger and supposedly more sensitive tecsun pl600 and on every occasion the pl380 detected on average ten or more radio stations than the pl600 and all this was via the pl380 built in telescopic antenna..on the aesthetic side it,s a functional well laid out and a truly pocket size radio the only minus i can give it is that it does not have an external antenna input ..but even on it's own antenna it's a superb radio for hunting down and listening to foreign shortwave broadcasts..all in all i'm delighted with this radio.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Best sw radio I’ve had in awhile
