The screen display is not really vibrant and colourful as seen in the advertised pictures.
Very good product as usual from Tascam but not much better from the older models like Dr-40/40x.
The new features like 32bit floating, digital output from type c and more inputs (6 inputs) are fantastic . It also has the ability to record individual channels as well mix (L and R). Only downside, it is too pricey but would recommend it if your stream or needs multiple input audio devices without going for traditional audio mixers. Vollständige Rezension lesen...

High quality but only supports timecode as audio, not metadata.
The Portacapture is the perfect tool for recording high quality audio in the field. It has removeable microphones at the top that are good quality. However it really comes into it's own when used with XLR microphones. It is able to provide phantom power and record in high quality with 32bit float recording which means you can recover audio even where other devices would have clipped.
If you buy the additional module for Bluetooth you can control the device from your ipad/ios/android device and monitor the recording levels.
Downsides, bluetooth was not built in to the unit, it requires an additional module. Timecode is not supported as metadata from something like the TC1's, instead you have to use an audio track to record the timecode information.
Overall I would recommend this to someone who is not interested in Timecode sync, and is looking for a high quality, robust recording system. I would say this is ideally suited to YouTubers .Vollständige Rezension lesen...
