I bought Suzanne Vega's debut album in 1985 on vinyl and now in 2022 I am buying the same album on CD. Over the last nearly 40 years this unique collection of 10 songs has been reviewed and praised, enjoyed and treasured by all who appreciate delightful, beautiful, emotional songwriting. It has become a true classic album showing that good songwriting stands the test of time. With familiar favourites 'Marlene on the Wall' 'Small Blue Thing' and 'The Queen and the Soldier' this album was the opening promise of a magical future of more beautiful melodies and timeless songs to follow. Suzanne Vega's first album

Great songs, different voice, lovely guitar and arrangements, I still love this album. If you wanted to hear something different in 1985 then Small Blue Thing said it all, with its wonderful words and guitar chords. viva lass vega

I have yet to meet any sane individual who doesn't love this album. Quite rightly it launched Vega across the world. Sublime songwriting, beautiful guitar and bass interplay and a voice as delicate and clear as crystal.
Queen and Soldier sits marvellously with Knight Moves. Marlene is my pick but there truly isn't a weak track here.

retro moment

Decided to buy this after a trawl through some old boxes revealed some rather dusty LP's from the 80's. Felt the need to get some on CD and Ebay is a great way to do this. Definately a good buy.

all time great need to listen too.

brilliant, i,m 40 and herd it when i was 17, could really recommend it too anybody just an all time great. xx
