10G networking at a fair price

This Supermicro X540 dual 10G is fast. The X540s do run warm but this card has a good heatsink and mine is in a sever chassis with air going over so it stays cool. I only use one port but that seems to run the full 10G during backups.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Works as advertised, very good performance for the cost

I purchased two of these adapters, one for an Unraid NAS and one for my personal computer.

Experience was overall very plug and play, with no major issues during installation.
When using this card on a Windows 10 PC, installing the Intel drivers from the Intel website is required, as Windows does not by default have the necessary drivers.
Unraid on the other hand worked immediately with the card.

Transfer from personal computer to the server reached a peak of 4.2 Gbps while transferring a 27 gigabyte file, with the primary bottleneck being the server cache SSD being only on SATA III (6.0 Gbps). I believe that file system overhead, SMB overhead, and SSD speed are the main bottleneck. The Unraid server cache SSD is a cheap 480GB ADATA SU630, so the file transfer was basically at the maximum sequential write speed for this given SSD.

Good 10gbps card

I purchased it to install on my custom built AMD PC which has NVME raid. I have connected Cat 7 cable to my Qnap 672XT NAS which has cache of NVME.
I use it to transfer large video files ( eg 10gb plus) and I consistently get 1 to 1.2 gbps speed while transfers g large files.
It does not disconnect or slowdown for long use. I have used this for continuous transfer of files for 3 days and it did not slow down.
It’s a good buy.

Smooth, easy install. works great.

Easy install, plug it in, the BIOS recognizes it, hit "C" for configure and set it up. Works great, no other software needed.

RAID card can raid
