Perfect For Mario Fans...Especially the Older Ones!

Anyone who is old enough to remember watching this show should get this collection. Anyone who really loves Mario should give it a try. Anyone who remembers the cartoon will love sitting around as the remember their younger days watching the live sequences, guest appearances, the cartoons, etc. This collections features over 20 episodes, it contains all the live segments and even the trailers for the Legend of Zelda episodes that aired every Friday. The special features are ok - there's an interview with Captain Lou Albano (Mario) and some art work, etc. This DVD is mainly to appeal to use who grew up with Mario in the 80s. Younger children will probably love this cartoon, except since it's based on the older games, they may have a hard time following the characters (mainly the villians). Some older Mario fans who haven't seent his cartoon may find it cheesy at times - espcially during the live segments where some rather strange stuff happens. Yes!! My favorite show all in one set

I remember watching the super Mario bros super show as a child little girl and all the memories are coming back and I just love Mario and Luigi Captain Lou played Mario so well and Danny as Luigi priceless this show brings back so much nostalgia and happy to own it on DVD it's a must for nostalgia fans to relieve the 80s and who is a Mario fan all the episodes are included and amazing just like it was on television you get to see exciting scenes clips from classic scenes from the legend of Zelda that came on every Friday at that time so I highly recommend this add it to your collection it's better then today tv shows.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

From a mom's prospective.

My son's 3 and loves it! He's had this about a month, and watches it whenever he can. He has even picked out his favorite episodes. However, I rated it as good because there are some 'confusing' parts to it- like some scenes don't seem to fit and neither does the speaking and the storyline isn't that great, but does teach some values/lessons. It is definitely entertaining, and I think any young child would like it. I do plan on buying the rest of the set, and recommend it. Just don't be surprised by the quality of the set, it is not up to par with how other box sets are out there, but I don't think that matters to a true fan or to a small child.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Best live-action oldschool ever

I remember watching this show as a kid, and I loved it so much.. of course I've always been a Nintendo fanboy, and always will be, but this show really breathed life into the characters of the Mario games. And one can't forget about the Legend of Zelda mini series during the show! Capt. Lou made a very funny mario, the jokes are old, corny one-liners, but you'll laugh now and again, you have to take it for what it is... and old kids' show. The cartoon shorts are great, Mario acts more gluttonously Italian than in the video games, but the animation style will bring you back, for sure! Super DVD box set, The Super Mario Brothers Super Show

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this DVD set when it came out, so that I could relive a part of my childhood.

I was not disappointed!

The box set comes with 4 DVD's filled with episodes, which were just the way they were when I had watched them years ago. Full opening and ending sequences, with the Super Mario Brothers cartoon interjected with live action breaks, as well as the commercials for The Legend of Zelda cartoon. A MUST HAVE for any young Mario lover

My 6 year old son loves it!.. We have been playing Mario games since before he could walk, so the cartoon is just icing on the cake. There are short segments of a *live* mario and luigi with special cameo appearances from various 1980's celebrities. Old Time Classic Is Revived

The reason why I bought this was because I used to watch it every day that it came on. That and the Legend of Zelda was what I was hooked on. I was maybe 5 at the time. When I got this DVD and started watching it the memories of watching it returned to me. If there is one thing the producers of this show could learn is that if they were to create a new series or just re-air the series it would be a hit.
