Sucker Punch (Blu-ray Disc, 2011, 2-Disc Set, Extended Cut)

One of 2011 underrated movies but visually good and overall entertaining

I rarely purchase DVD’s or Blu-ray any longer but wanted the extras with this one. I got it at a very discounted price so it was well worth it. My wife, who had never seen it, really liked it. This movie got a lot of backlash for painting women in inferior roles where they fantasize their way out of bonds and exploit there sexuality to sell the movie. Really?
Thankfully women are once again starting to enjoy their sexuality and their sensuality, being so tired of others bashing them for exploring that side of themselves. Not every movie need to have the powerful female that no one has ever wronged. I admit there needed to be some checks and balance, otherwise it goes back to women never getting string lead roles but the focus in this movie is not the male villains at all.
The focus is on the females and the fantasies that play out, in one of the character’s minds (at least I think it was only in one) to give her and the rest confidence to be accomplished and win in their real and miserable world. It plays out like a manga fantasy at times, with lots of effects and CGI and of course you must suspend reality. It looks great on a 4K HDR TV. “Oh, and one other thing” it has what any good movie must have, a solid soundtrack. Zack Snyder's greatest film to date.

This is a fantastic film. Most people don't get it. I understand that. But most people are idiots! First of all, consider this to be something along the lines of Sin City. This movie doesn't take place in the real world. Ok? neither does Harry Potter or Star Wars so just get the F over it people who say it is weird or nor realistic. I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies and I am pretty confident Middle Earth never really existed.
So, now we understand that this starts in an alternate type world, and that world has three layers or "perceptions" if you will. World one: 1950's America aka Reality. World two: Revisionist History or the retelling of the tell post procedure. World three: dream scape
Once you understand this tale is told out of sequence you can understand why world one looks different than world two. And world three is a fantasy dramatization of actual events that occurred in world one as interpreted through world two.
Buy this DVD and watch it twice. It will be entertaining this first run through and fully realized in the second.Vollständige Rezension lesen

No Good , If it had a happier ending it might have elevated my opinion but basically it stunk

The main character barely had a speaking part and anybody could have played the role .. The special effects and CGI were great if you like a video game type movie..

Who says girls can't be action movie stars? They must see this movie. The girls are pretty and dangerous. I will watch it again and again.

exactly as advertized ,

its great to buy a product , remove it from the case , pop it in the player and it works perfect , much better than paying high dollar at retail and it doesn't work right , for whatever reasons

Amazing movie!

Lots of action! Great, dark, storyline. Very attractive cast! CGI is outstanding!
