Fun, classic fighting game with a twist

Very fun, old school arcade fighting game. It has very interesting and rare characters to play with. It also has the classic stripped down original Street Fighter II arcade game for fans of the classic characters. I never played fighting games that much back in the day, but it was always a joy to walk past the small crowd that was watching and sometimes betting on the spectacle in whatever arcade it was happening in.

It was quite the social phenomenon and, being young and impressionable, I just thought it was cool. It was really fun just watching 2 arcade players who were really good because they had a mastery of the game's characters that I never had. I never put much energy, or quarters, into it. It took alot of money (for a poor 12 year old) to keep playing if you were a mediocre player like I was. Also, there was tremendous social pressure to stay out of the way of the really good players. They really made it into the spectacle that it was and I'm sure that made the arcade an attractive place for youngsters to be, which in turn was of course good for the arcade's business. More kids, more money...

Anyway, the game is fun and, for a collector like myself, its really just about remembering the past when I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. Oh and, by the way, the version I received was a weird french Canadian market variant of the game, so on the case everything that is in english is duplicated in french. It would be really helpful if the game manual was also in english, but it's only in french, which is just kind of hilarious for an average middle aged American who only knows 1 language: American. I would say American english, but the British people that I have spoken to think so poorly of my use of the english language that they don't even recognize it as proper English. So be it.
