It's a great movie of life: highs and lows, triumph and tragedy, childhood and adulthood. Jodie Foster is fantastic, possibly get best role ever. A great, rare jewel to be seen.

Cry, laugh, cry

Let me start by saying that this movie will make you cry.
Basically a chick-flick, but with a little bit of baseball for the guys.
The plot-line is as follows: The main character, Billy, played brilliantly by Mark Harmon is a washed up has-been baseball player. When he was younger he was considered quite a talent, but he never hit it big. Now in his thirties, living at the roach-motel with his girlfriend, who is about two minutes away from leaving him. Things are, to say it mildly, not looking good for Billy. Then he gets a call from his mother, letting him know that Katie, the girl who used to baby sit him when he was a kid, has committed suicide. On his way home to the funeral we hear the story of the friendship ha shared with Katie. We hear a story of a woman so full of life, that it is almost impossible to believe that she has killed herself. In the process of telling the story of Katies life, we get to see Billys story as well. Both his past and his struggling in the present to get his life back on track. Katie is played by the always amazing Jodie Foster. The young Billy is played by William McNamara and as Billys best friend, Appleby, you see Jonathan Silverman as the young version and Harold Ramis as the old one. Both actors equally fantastic, Appleby is the comic relief in a movie that could have easily become too sad.
I love this movie. I don`t know what else to say. If you want to see a great movie, or want to torture your boyfriend with something other than Steel Magnolias, this is the movie. Beautiful soundtrack as well.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

If you like love story romance movies, you definitely want to get this movie.
Definitely one of my all time favorites!

Another great from Hollywood, especially when stuck at home .

Just as I remember and always worth watching.
