Stax 50th: 50th Anniversary Celebration by Various (CD, 2007)

GREAT, SPECTACULAR, AWESOME.

A friend of mine gave Me a bunch of Old Lp's and CD's. THIS Title was among them. A couple Weeks later He asked how I liked 'em, and I said: "GREAT- but the "Stax 50" was AWESOME!". He says:"OH, I didn't mean to give You THAT one- give it BACK". OOPS- sorry I said THAT...I was CRUSHED. So I always wanted to REPLACE it- THIS one "Popped up" on eBay- and I bought it. This CD Set is JUST SPECTACULAR ! AND the recording is BEYOND reproach. These "Old Cats" REALLY Knew what they were doing! The Writing is GREAT, the Performances are GREAT, and the Sound Quality is AMAZING !!! We used to listen to the "SHAFT" Soundtrack in the Car (on "EIGHT TRACK"). To Hear it on Our "High- End" Stereo (Levinson/Cello/Klipschorn) is FANTASTIC, and on Our "Ten Channel Dolby Atmos" Surround -Sound Home Theater System is a REVELATION. A this two CD collection is a great review of Staxx highlights. The quality of this music helps to bring Staxx out of the shadows created by Sun and Motown. Best enjoyed when reading the book, Respect Yourself by Robert Gordon.Vollständige Rezension lesen
