Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (Playstation 3, 2008)

The game is a good game, you'll like it if you're a fan of Spider-Man & don't mind that it doesn't follow closely to the comics or if you just like action/adventure/sci-fi type games. It has a similar freedom style like Grand Theft Auto. You get to make choices to be good or bad. optional missions etc. There are three different possible outcomes depending on the choices you make. People cheer or boo you depending on your actions. You can upgrade your moves & such with exp. points. The fighting "style" looks pretty cool at times. The graphics could be better in my opinion & when the characters have conversations it reminds me of the older games or in comics because the way the text is shown (hard to explain & I don't mean the cut scenes). The camera angles need work, at times you can't even see yourself or where your going.

Comparing the pros & the cons, its a fun game with plenty to do (begining of the game is kind of boring) but it gets better once you get further into it. Fun, good action, plenty of possibilities. Overall worth playing.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Web of Shadows is a nifty idea on paper. Rather than being based on a movie or specific comic book arc, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows creates a completely unique tale set in the comic book world. During a rather routine battle with Venom, the symbiote we all know and love fractures and part of it leaps to Spider-Man, once again endowing him with the black suit and all the strength and evilness that comes with it. The main portion of the goo sticks with Eddie Brock and the Venom alliance, but it turns out that the suit is creating symbiote-spitting pods that are infecting the civilians of New York. Soon, the city is filled with folks who are scaling buildings, kicking ass, and trying to eat Spidey's brains. The Best SpiderMan Go So Far !

This was a great game to play. I never really had to much respect for Spiderman as a superhero, until I played this game.

This 1 Player game is not bound by limits and you can pretty much go anywhere you want in the game. The story line was long enough where you didn't have to worry about beating it in one or two sittings. My favorite part is web-swinging through the city and watching spider-man as he does so is a quite a site of astonishment.

Spiderman's power were astounding, including powerful attack techniques and combination (lengthy punching, kicking, fast moves). His health is easy to recuperate.

The game might be a bit repetitive but this just makes the time pass quicker since you get used to enjoying certain elements of the success and easy of use of the game.

5/5 for pure entertainment and game satisfaction.

Good Spider-Man game but has some annoying parts

I really enjoyed the game. At times the story will stray too far from what I know and expect in the world of Spider-Man. I have not read any of the comics in recent years but seeing Mary Jane with a shotgun doesn't seem right. Some of the side missions seem a bit teadious but you don't have to do them. Like most games it has some annoying parts but overall I think it is the most enjoyable Spider-Man game I have played.
If you are a Spider-Man fan that doesn't mind a story that breaks from the comics, then it is a good buy. If you are not a Spider-Man fan and are judging the game simply on story & gameplay it is probably a C, but as a Spider-Man game it is more like a B+.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows on PS3

The graphics are great, the story seems good, and the cinematics beautiful. It's fun, refreshing, and overall entertaining. And that's the point. Right? It has a lot of potential to be a great game, but had a few shortcomings. The voice work was not as good as it could have been. There are no trophies. And like most Spider-Man titles of late, the gameplay gets old. I felt almost like I was playing a beta for a different, better game. I do have to admit though, it's great to be able to play with the classic costume or the black costume (each with some different abilities), but that was the one thing to save this title. Trophies would certainly add some replay value, and better voice work could have made this game great. i have never enjoyed a game so much before,The story begins with Spider-Man assisting S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the middle symbiote invasion. After defeating them, he reunites with Mary Jane Watson and Luke Cage before being attacked by symbiote Black Cat

Spider-Man then thinks back to four days ago when he and Mary Jane were attacked by Venom. During the battle a part of the symbiote of Venom's suit binds itself to Parker. With his symbiotic power, Parker defeats Brock but loses him. Mary Jane is rushed to the hospital. After battling gangs outside of the hospital, Spider-Man joins Luke Cage in the war against the Rolling Sevens Gang and the Park Avenue Gang. When Cage finally sets up a parley between the two, the meeting is attacked by heavily armed mercenaries. Spider-Man takes them down and discovers evidence that the gang war was set up.

Spider-Man traces the attackers to Fisk Industries, home of the Kingpin. When attempting to confront Kingpin, Spider-Man encounters Black Cat. After having a run in with Moon Knight, Spider-Man assumes Black Cat is working for the Kingpin and chases her down. Black Cat claims that she was trying to infiltrate Fisk's heist operation. Spider-Man engages Kingpin's forces including the ones that are setting up bombs on the courthouse. He traces the manufacturer of Kingpin's armor to the Vulture, who he defeats in a mid-air battle. Spider-Man then precedes to wipe out the last of Kingpin's troops when he is attacked by strangely aggressive citizens. The civilians tear apart Kingpin's soldiers with their bare hands and then turn on Spider-Man. He attempts to defend himself and is seen by the police as "attacking" the people. Spider-Man is now seen as a criminal and now goes into hiding.

He begins an investigation of the strange behavior of Manhattan's citizens, during which he is confronted and attacked by Wolverine in Hell's Kitchen. After convincing Wolverine that he has his symbiotic suit under control, the duo set out to pacify the aggressive citizens, confirmed to be infected by the same symbiote Spider-Man wears. During his campaign to cleanse the city, Spider-Man discovers that Venom is cloning himself using the symbiote suit he wears. These clones form hives in many parts of the city. From these hives, they launch an invasion against the citizens of the city, kidnapping them and throwing them into the hives.

After destroying the pods, S.H.I.E.L.D. sends a Helicarrier to Manhattan to quarantine citizens, determining which are infected and which are not. Black Widow is appointed head of the S.H.I.E.L.D. quarantine operation. As Black Widow is about to arrest Spider-Man, Electro attacks one of the quarantine zones, looking for his sister. Spiderman Web of Shadows

The gameplay is creative with unbelievable combos and techniques but the game took the comic book-like approach when fighters hit each other a red glow blocks out the contact between fighters. The story line lacks as well as character dialogue and voices. Not for the serious gamers but can be just a fun game to play to pass the time. Cool /but gets glitchy every now and then.

Cool it does get glitchy now and then but cool non the less, just like how I played it on 360 when I was kid and been craving to play it as of now. 😁 and love during the month of October made it much cool in my opinion 😃Vollständige Rezension lesen...
