This is perfect if you need to transfer 8mm or HI8mm tapes to digital. It will work thru firewire and does a remarkable job. You can also watch videos in Digital 8 and record in that too.

Greatest device in the history of filming with tapes

With this device I can take my home movies anywhere, and with a special USB device, I can use it to rip tapes to my computer, that I could not rip otherwise. Best value out there!
