A great suspense filled thriller from a great director...

I bought this DVD solely because of its director Brian DePalma. Its another one of his suspense filled thriller/dramas, and includes some of his signature effects like split-screening. DePalma is a stylistic director and his films rank at the top of my suspense list. He talks about being influenced by Hitchcock, and you will see this with the way he uses cameras...always fun to watch his stuff! (well, EXCEPT the "voilence against women" stuff like "Body Double" and "Dressed to Kill." Sorry Brian!). Snake Eyes is used both practcally and metaphorically to advance this convoluted plot. Watch it twice.

A good crime movie deserves the intesity of Nicholas Cage. He was thoroughly riveting.

Snake Eyes

Ricky Santoro is a flamboyant and corrupt Atlantic City cop with a dream: become so well connected that he can become mayor. In lieu of that, he'll settle for keeping his comfortable lifestyle. On the night of the heavyweight boxing championship, Rick becomes mixed up in the assassination of the Secretary of Defense, an assassination involving his best friend. Becoming the investigating officer in the case, Rick soon uncovers a conspiracy to kill the Secretary and a mysterious woman in white. The conspiracy was shocking, but not half as shocking as the identity of its mastermind. 'Snake Eyes' provides a fast entertaining story which allows you to relax and enjoy the movie. Watch this movie with an easy going mind and you could find yourself really enjoying the movie. De Palma's camera work, makes this movie worth watching by itself. my friend was an extra in it. film is ok. watch john fury. he is the construction worker in the credits of the movie.

This was an interesting movie with a surprise ending! I liked it o.k.! I liked the way it showed how corrupt the cops and the government can be!
