Ditch Kies. install cyanogen mod.enjoy a rippin' good phone without samsong

I bought this phone because of its small size. The other higher end smart phones are way too big to cart around.
plus being a bit cheaper i don't care if it gets lost/smashed/stolen.
unlike the guys who sob for weeks if their precious monster size phone gets a scratch.

The first thing to do was root the phone and install the cyanogen mod rom.

this brought the firmware up to gingerbread 2.3.7

the 1GB sd card is a bit small so it was upgraded to an 8Gb card.
after that it felt and worked great. the menus are intuitive and the online
support is fantastic, it also works in all countries as it is a quad band device.

the arm 6 cpu is really quick and can be overclocked to 748 mhz

the battery drain is fairly quick when using apps but for normal light use it goes about 5 days.

compared to other phones it leaves nokia way back, dunno about htc, makes the iphone look like a kindergarten toy for dummies, motorola is yuck, sony ericson dunno.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Good cheap easy to use.

It is a good smartphone I brought it because I wanted a Smartphone and a cheap one and I found this one on ebay. I have had a problem with it since I brought it with the battery for which I need to take it for repairs and it is not working at the moment. My overall rating of it is good because it has excellent features and is easy to use when working it is also ideal for me and works just right for what I need it for. Overall I would say it is a good smartphone easy to use and good value for money and I would well advise anyone else who is looking for a good cheap smartphone to consider this one and put it on your list.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Excellent - good value.

I have been delighted with this smartphone. Although used, it was in perfect condition, and a treat to use. It is very versatile, and offers a new window on using the web. I can check my emails for example on my phone. The screen is beautiful. I would recommend this for anyone who is prepared to learn how to use it and persevere. The cost new was far too high for me, but this purchase has been just right for me with a limited budget. Great value for money!

Easy to use. Plenty of apps for it. Not a great camera but you can make good pictures if it is enough light. Powerful enough to to complicated tasks. If it get frozen you have built in an Task Manager and you can clean the memory easy and everything is just fine in seconds! Great value for money!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Samsung Galaxy Europa,a good little phone for the money.

Love this phone. Just works great.Dropped old Nokia in bucket of water!! Wanted a cheap reliable android phone to tie me over until my contract phone is due for upgrade.This phone works better than the Nokia ever did. ie Internet use,e mails. I always buy Samsung mobiles as they are the best and easiest phones to use

had very old samsung and needed another phone could not afford to buy new so looked for used one on ebay and bought a samsung galaxy europa GT- I5500 - very pleased easy to use as I am senior citizen

Good feature, and value for money !

This small Galaxy Europa, has all the fonctionalities I could ask for (3g wifi bluetooth gps music, android apps and so on) and is very light in my bag !
just one bad point, the battery is not so good...

Yes I recommend, and have bought 3 of them...for me, for my husband, and for my daughter !

Good value for money.

Easy to use and great smartphone for a smartphone beginner.
If you want simple but intelligent phone, this will be perfect.

awesome product! Great value for the money!

Rely good quality product. Everything in its own original box, with all parts and benefits. The phone is really nice and you can used quite easy. There is meany functions which you can use.
