The title Roots tells how it all began in Africa, how those people they became slaves. Great title

I watched this movie when it came out on tv, which was very a good movie series, only I missed a couple of series then. Now when I watched this somehow missed several episodes. Will have to watch this again and make sure watch everything.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This is a great story and I can remember watching it on TV years ago. I also have Roots The Next Generation which completes the tale. Definitely a thought provoking story.

Excellent movie with a lot of history in it I’m gonna have all my grandkids watch it just so they know how far the world has changed for the better.

So Much Better than the Remake

This original series is so much better than the terrible new version that was presented on the History Channel in 2016. This one gives honor and respect to Alex Haley, who was one of the really fine and important writers of the 20th century. A great boxed set with the wonderful Roots mini series that is so well written!

Great Overview but dated

The series demonstrates a good arc of history of Black Americans over multiple generations. Every segment features multiple stars. The only drawback is that the acting styles and production techniques seem dated. Of course, it is more than 40 years old.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Roots Original

This is the original Roots movie that was on tv many years ago. I enjoy this much better than the newer version that is out there.
