Hunt for a Movie Other Than "Rocket Hunter"

I'm glad I paid less than $10 USD for this turkey, less than many other vendors are asking. Still, I overpaid, because this DVD wasn't worth the cost of the plastic storage case it came in.

I had high hopes for this movie, since the production company obviously spent more money on the engaging full color insert for the DVD case and on advertising, than they appear to have spent on making the movie. They should have spent the money on a better script, actors who could actually act, mockups that looked more realistic and definitely on a better sound effects technician. For instance, early in the movie, there are scenes of the a lone B-17 flying through the sky on its mission. The B-17 was an obvious radio-controlled model, which might have been OK, except for the fact that it was maneuvering and flying at a relative speed that was completely unrealistic. And the sound effect? C'mon man, there must be hundreds of stock sound files of an actual B-17 (or similar 4-engine aircraft) available, which the studio could have used. Instead, you get a sound effect that's more like a single engine Cessna airplane buzzing around.

The acting is so bad in this movie, I'd swear that in some scenes, the actors were reading their lines from cue cards, as if it was the first time they had seen the script. After just 10 or 15 minutes painfully watching this movie, I turned it off, ejected it from my DVD player and tossed it in the trash.

I doubt that many people will find this movie very entertaining, believable, or worth the purchase price. I'm submitting this review to help other people from making the mistake I did by purchasing a copy of this movie. Instead of "Rocket Hunter", a better title might have been "Hunting for Actors Who Can Act and Special Effects Which are Half Believable".

As far as typical WWII movies go, I rate this one as a dud -- not even worth 1 star, however 1 star was the lowest rating I could pick.Vollständige Rezension lesen
