A good selection of old songs
Containing tracks from the albums up to More and A and B sides of singles, the album has a great variety in the sound and style of the music played. A good place to start if looking into Pink Floyd's early material and a good selection of some of their best songs from the period. I remember buying it as a cheap Pickwick LP (12/6, 62p, I think). Good cd from the early pink floyd worth getting just 4 insterstellar overdrive + careful with that axe bike is just crazy but so funny i would recommend this cd 2 any pink floyd fan

Early Floyd: If you don't know where to begin....
There's not much to say about RELICS that hasn't been said by others. Its content has been superseded by THE EARLY YEARS and ECHOES, but for an "Early Floyd Primer", you really can't go wrong. I went out of my way to get this digipak with Nick Mason's original artwork, even though I already had the mid-90s CD version with the "real life model" of Nick's Object. (Which is damned impressive and I would love to see the real thing in person someday, sitting in the foyer of his office in England...) But for sheer nostalgia and "street cred", I had to have this one as well. (Also I'm a completist/hoarder.) The sound is excellent, the booklet is cool (and still has pictures of the 3D object), and though the track listing is erratic, it is, like SMASH HITS and LOUDER THAN BOMBS, by accident or deisgn, a perfectly delightful snapshot of the earliest era of the band. Complete? By no means. Essential? Absolutely. But don't stop here....Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Good Career Review Album.
It's a compilation of tracks taken from most of the bands good albums. Some of Barret's early works I wouldn't have sought out, but it hangs together like a studio version of a live performance.

Ambient, strange, but brilliant for Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream fans!
I have got all of Pink Floyd's albums in vinyl, including "Relics" and all the albums on CD, apart from "Relics, so I had to rectify it. Glad I did, and I am very satisfied with it!
