raynox dcr-250 macro lens

the lens is good and the plastic mount give me trouble every time i use the lens. now looking for a adapter ring so i can throw the cheap plastic adapter in the trash. the two small cleats (used to grasp the 67mm threads in the end of my nikon camera) align with the threads and cause it to misalign the lens. the design is flawed. carlVollständige Rezension lesen

Good product

The device arrived in time. It is exactly what I want and need. Focusing is is a little bit hard because of the 2.5 magnification. If you use stacking process and a tripod :) is OK. Easy to use. I'm using it on a Tamron 105 2.8. I will add some picture very soon. Vollständige Rezension lesen

A Fantastic Way to Introduce Yourself to Macro Photography

The design and build is excellent. The Japanese optics are superb, producing beautiful images. The system is compact, easily carried and includes a hard plastic case for protection. There are front and rear lens caps. When installed on a lens, the front cap will protect the optics.

To use the Raynox DCR-250 only requires threading the optics / lens on to the adapter.

A 46-52 step-up ring allows the unit to be mounted on a Olympus 60mm macro as well as other lenses like the Olympus 25mm that have a 46mm filter size. The adapter without a step-up ring works with 52-67mm filter sizes.

While the instructions recommend a focusing rail and tripod, you can achieve excellent results handheld. This is especially true with a camera with IBIS like the Olympus OMD and Panasonic G9 cameras.

I would highly recommend the Raynox DCR-250. And adding a 46-52mm step-up is an excellent addition if you are using a Micro Four Thirds system as many of these lenses have 46mm filter size.

easy to use. affordable

Was skeptical at first with a snap on gadget to the lens. It works great! Auto focus still works with macro focusing. Good depth of field for macro photots.

Good product, takes some practice

Good product taht take some practise to get used to. The focusing is very narrow and a bit tricky to get right, but thankfully, digital images is low cost and with training you can get some very impressive results. I'm using it mostly with my 90mm Fuji lens, this is a very good match. Sharp!Vollständige Rezension lesen

Best macro attachment lens for high-magnification shooting

Good magnification with most lenses I've tried. IQ is great. Equivalent to 10 diopter close-up filter.

Note that with shorter lenses, the working distance is going to be short. Use a longer lens with short closest focus distance for besr result. Great for tiny details, but not ideal for flowers and plants (there is DCR -150).

Also works great with a macro lens for super-macro shots.

Very convenient to attach and detach.

A Very Good Product I Would Even Recommend for Professional Use

I considered it an excellent product. I have no experience with macro photography, except some tutorials I saw on youtube. I went to my backyard, took some photos from insects and I was amazed by the extreme high quality of my results. I used it with my Sony HX400V, superzoom bridge camera, and my Canon T6 with a 55-250mm EF-s lens, and on both it worked perfectly. The image was so sharp that the cameras could easily auto-focus, even at that level of magnification and with the aperture closed to F16 in my DSLR.

Completely versatile, can be used in almost any camera or lens and is very sharp, I'm extremely happy. I bought two because I wanted extreme magnification, but one was enough, it's incredibly strong, you can take pictures from the face of flies and see the texture of their eyes, I couldn't believe it. I was as amazed and happy as when a few years ago I could see the moon with a superzoom, it will easily take you far beyond what your human eyes can properly see. It really works, it's not one of those filters that never do what they promise, it is a real macro accessory.

I will let 5 pictures below, keep in mind that the maximum zoom was not achieved, and still the magnification was great. Keep in mind too that you will need a flash, even under sunlight, and that a too great magnification need a too strong light. But at lower magnifications, with a wider angle, the flash was not necessary at all, specially with my superzoom bridge camera. Those creatures were alive and moving, and it was the first time I did that. I used the inbuilt flashes from the camera, you don't need a professional flash, unless you want to do something specific.

NOT DURABLE

The lens is nice and gives nice pics, but the material of the lens adapter is not good, poor plastic and the rims of the snap-on are very week, it broke the first time i used the lens. I hope there is a better way to apply the lens to the camera, a ring adapter should be better. Vollständige Rezension lesen

The Raynox DCR -250 opens up a whole world of macro photography i never thought possible. Works best with any focal length from 100-200mm. Still practicing with it but overall very impressed with it.

Affordable and high quality

The setup is very affordable for how high the quality of the photos are. The lens is very intuitive and works with any lens that fits the range described as it does not need to thread into a lens filter, it simply has springs that allow it to fit onto any size lens.
