Raid On Rommel
A very good, well acted movie with veteran actors of their day. Color is good and the story gripping if not a bit far fetched for anyone who knew the reality of the desert campaign against Rommel in WW2. Nevertheless we know in the end the British where triumphant in crushing the German Africa Corp. in the desert campaign. This movie is a copy of the 1967 movie "Tobruk", starring Rock Hudson. It uses a lot of the same footage from that movie. They were both made by Universal. The plot is slightly reworked, but the story line is basically the same. I like Richard Burton in his action movies, so I have a slight bias, but I wish that this movie, didn't use so much of the footage from "Tobruk".Vollständige Rezension lesen

Burton’s best.
I believe this war film revived Burton’s
film career. Well paced WW11 story about Brits behind enemy lines. Great desert scenery.
