This has some advantages over the 2i2 thats worth concidering.
I have had a long-term experience with the Focusrite audio interface from the Scarlot USB 5 and 2i2. The 2i2 is lightweight, small and reliable and suitable for any studio, more so mobile setup.
<br>The PreSonus 26c caught my eye as a contender as it has some excellent meters on the front and has a loopback feature to enable me to record VSTs and other audio into a virtual input, this is something the 2i2 cant do.
I can run this at 8ms with no clinching in which the drivers seem reliable. The headphone input is around the back which I found to be an odd place to have it, but since I have it in use it looks much more clutter-free at the front.
The knobs are a tad small, I do prefer the knobs on the Scarlot 2i2. This is more suitable for a studio than a mobile system as it's heavier and bulkier than a 2i2 which I think will be an important factor when deciding what to get.
This is built very well, feels solid for the knob movements and have had no issues with it so far. Reviews would indicate that the Scarlot 2i2 has a slightly high mic input gain than the 26c interface. If you're a mobile singer-songwriter I would still go with a 2i2. If you're a music producer in your fixed-located studio, need the lookback feature and do some podcasting then the Presonus Studio 26c is the way to go.
