A decent antenna, but nowhere near 4dBi as claimed

The antenna is certainly better than most others in it's category and price bracket and it's notable that poynting do at least give some dBi figures, however these are misleading and their claimed 4dBi gain is far from the truth, but this isn't limited to Poynting, many other manufacturers also make misleading or fraudulent claims on the gain of the antennas.
I tested this antenna in the lab with a signal generator and calibrated EMC antenna at various frequencies. At most frequencies it was around 0 to 1dBi, sometimes 1.5 or 2dbi and at one frequency it did achieve 3.5dBi. Sometimes it was in minus figures for dBi.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Pointing antenna

Using a HUAWEI 535 router on three.fitted antenna on roof and speed was lower than with internal paddle antenna.experimented in different positions.put poynting back in box and stashed in cupboard.
