Highly Recommended, Streaming/DAB/Hands free Calls. Setup in minutes

This DAB Kit is excellent and does everything needed. It Streams music from a phone, Picks up all digital stations even with the aerial on the dash, It does hands free phone calls and can be setup to use within 5 minutes. You can also use your incar radio to listen to calls/streaming without using the AUX port. So 1 less connector. The instructions are clear and can connect to your mobile phone in 10 seconds. You can mount the unit in multiple places with the mount supplied. The screen is single colour but is very clear in daytime or at night, so you can find all the stations preset or scanning no problem and it scrolls the info on stations and track being played on dab radio
This is the second unit i have bought due to it being so easy with all features needed for music/calls/DAB
For the price you cannot go wrong and has more features that a unit twice the price has
Excellent for use in cars boats caravans due to small size but great features
Well worth buiying and i would buy more if anyone i know needs one

Large screen. Five preset buttons. Decent reception.

Overall, I'm pleased with this thing. As such adaptors go, it was among the cheaper, but it still performs very well.

Installation:

This will vary for every context, but I'm delighted to say that I got mine fitted unobtrusively to the dashboard, just above the radio, and in easy reach. It's hard wired to power behind the dashboard, and I've managed to keep all the wiring out of sight.

The aerial is annoying, though, as it's clearly designed to fit at the right-hand edge of the windscreen, where it would obstruct the driver's field of vision in a British car. I did get it fitted, but I wasn't happy with it, so I replaced it with one that is designed for right hand drive cars. If you're thinking of doing the same, note that it uses an SMB connector.

Connection to your existing sound system can be done either with a wired connection (using your car's audio-in socket and the supplied cable), or wirelessly. In the latter case, you just tune an unused preset on your existing radio to the FM frequency which the unit broadcasts on. This frequency can be changed if necessary. I'm using the wireless option, and it works very well.

Features:

Two features stand out for me:
1. Five physical buttons for presets. You can build a favourites list in the menu system, but having five dedicated buttons was a big plus for me.
2. Large display screen. The screen is large enough to display both station name and broadcast text (programme name and song title, for example), without annoying and distracting scrolling.

It also has Bluetooth, and so can be connected to a mobile device for taking phone calls or for streaming your own music (or whatever).

Performance:

It does suffer from not having a factory fitted DAB aerial available in the car. When on the move, dropouts do happen. I've found that it depends on what you're listening to, however. BBC stations seem to drop out more often than Classic FM, for example. I'm guessing that's to do with them being broadcast on different multiplexes from slightly different locations, and the effect will probably vary in different parts of the country. On the whole, reception quality is good.

Verdict:

I like it. And at last I can get BBC Radio 4 Extra while on the move.

Great value to go DAB IN CAR

Easy set up but needs an external aerial for great DAB reception. I got a magnetic one for £10 at well known car parts store and DAB stations went from a dodgy 18 to constant 56!
Set to English is not hard to do in the menu just need to guess which line it is as initially language is Norwegian I think.
At £26 would recommend for anyone that wants DAB in car at a great price. Good quality parts and includes a 2 port cig lighter adapter for USB charging, that's a ten pound saving on it's own.

Radio Bliss

This dab in-car radio is great the channels are picked up well and maintain a good stream with no interference ( this is subject to your area)
It is simple to set up it comes with instructions and a note on how to change the language ( not English by default)
Setting it up could not be any simpler ( type pop dab radio into youtube ull see an instructional video how to place the antenna)
The ONLY downside ive found so far is because it is not an English device the antenna is set the wrong way around ( it is set for left hand drive not right, other than that it is an improvement of the cars standard radio.

Great value for money

I was a bit sceptical about this adapter, because I read quite a lot positive reviews and I guessed that they may not be genuine. On the other hand, the price was low, so I decided to gamble with it and I think it was worth it. It general - it's not the most innovative gadget but it works perfectly, in my opinion. I'm travelling daily between West Herts and Oxfordshire, mainly M1-M25-M40-Oxford southern bypass-A34 to Chilton with occasional trips through rural Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire (depend on the traffic) and the signal of the national multiplexes is absolutely perfect, with occasional drop outs on M40, where it crosses the Chiltern hills. I also travelled to Buxton for the bank holiday (north on M1 to Derby), and the signal was strong up to about 20 miles to Buxton. Then, it lost everything, aside of the BBC National multiplex - something, which doesn't seems to be adapter fault, but just bad rural coverage. Aside of the receiving capability, there are few things which I like and don't. What I like:
1. The display - big and bright, it doesn't show album art or other multimedia things, but it is multi line, so it could permanently show the station info, instead of scrolling, or scroll in pages. The station name is in larger letters, which is nice, too.
2. Five presets buttons, plus memory for 30 in total.
3. Large size (which could be not very good, depending of your dashboard), so manipulation is easy. Just bear in mind - it could be more convenient to place it for right hand. I placed it left of my steering wheel and I couldn't see the display, when manipulate the controls.
4. Could be connected using 3.5mm aux in or FM transmitter. I'm using the transmitter and it works quite well.
5. Strong magnet mount, but it could be attached to the windscreen with simple phone holder.
6. Bluetooth with option for stereo playback, so you could play music from your smartphone or use it for handsfree. Unfortunately, I can't confirm how it performed as handsfree, because I already have on in my car, plus headset.
And what I don't like:
1. The antenna - I cleaned my windscreen withe wipes supplied, but it nearly pealed off next day, so it's fixed with simple Cello tape. It looks ugli now, but it's still functioning, at least.
2. Well, It's cheap device and based on the price tag - we shouldn't expect some nice solutions for cable decluttering, which some three time more expensive adapters offer. Just bear in mind - there'll be at least two cables, which you'll have to cope with, plus eventually third, if you decide to opt in for Aux connection.
3. The dual USB charger. It does the job, but it cause interference, when I plugged my smartphone for charging, which makes the signal weak and drops frequently. I bought a reputable brand dual charger and rectified the issue straight away.
4. The size. I know, I mention this as a good thing and it is, but it could be a big problem to find proper place for it, depends of your vehicle dashboard. My Hyundai i30 MK 1 had large textured area of the dashboard, which I don't think is a good place to stick the magnet holder, so at the end I placed it on not so convenient spot. Again, this is entirely depend on your vehicle. You could avoid this, if you use phone holder, instead. I just didn't want another device cluttering my windscreen.
I hope I didn't annoyed you too much with this a bit lengthy review ad it could be useful enough to you.

Dab unit info and best reception

I have had a few of these and found to get the best out of them is to mount the aerial in the rear window and not the front..the cable is long enough for the bigger of cars .run the cable along roof lining inside door seals .best to have cable full length as improve on signal . No channel lose anywhere .great little unit Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Dab radio adapter.

Brilliant bit of kit, works straight out of the box even before you stick the Ariel to the screen. I bought it because the radio reception on my van was appalling, this has improved my work day no end. The hardest part of installing it is to change it to English as from the factory it's in Norwegian.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great in car addition

Bought this needing to update my radio. My in car stereo is very good but lacks DAB. This is an ideal solution. Very easy fit taking around 30 mins to get it up and running with cables tucked away neatly. Picked up more stations than my wifes Mini. The sound is very good with the addition of bluetooth hands free phone calls. A great purchase, I'm really pleased with it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Purchased two it’s that good.

Bought one for my works van (tight company, no air con either O_o )

Bought this one as it has dab+ unlike most of the others this price. Ariel with this is much more substantial and the unit is very easy to set up and use.

The ability to connect my phone to it for handsfree driving also a bonus as it keeps the van one just for the works phone.

So impressed I’ve bought a second one for our car as well.

Can’t go wrong.
