A great gem from the days when sitcoms were still being made.
Major TV channels no longer commission sitcoms like this any longer - which is such a pity.
They seem only to want to offer "stand-up" comedy shows now - which I find completely unfunny and just wants to show off the self-importance of the so-called comedian on stage.
Thankfully the less well known satellite channels are still broadcast these gems - and this is how I came across this programme. Shame they only made three series. A gentle comedy which genuinely made me laugh. Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Really enjoyed this series, good cast, but wasn't always sure what it was looking to do.Could be called comedy drama as it was a bit of both. It was not laugh out humour but it did make you feel good and the drama part was not heavy enough to make you tense. Just a pleasant viewing evening. Brilliant set of ON THE UP with Dennis Waterman
Entertaining set of DVDs of the serious. Very strange that I ordered it just the weekend before we were told that Dennis Waterman had transitioned, so sad
