I love this camera!

I received a COOLPIX P520 several years ago and it takes amazing photos and I love having the ability to go from auto shooting to manual settings. It's easy to pack and take with me anywhere. I do a lot of livestock and outdoor pictures and this camera has survived all the dust, dirt, and a pretty tough life. My first one got damaged (through my own actions, not because of poor construction) and I was heartbroken because Nikon has discontinued this model. This truly is a fantastic all around camera. Review of the Nikon P520 Camera

I am very happy with this camera. It is easy to use and it is light. I wanted a bridge camera because I did not want to be bothered carrying extra lens and changing lenses. I have yet to really test the focus at full enlargement, but I get a good picture; however, I guess I was expecting more detail. It has lots of features that I am still exploring. I am not sure of this feature, but I think the flash must be popped up manually before it can be used. I bought this camera for family pictures, and it fills the bill perfectly. Great Camera

This camera is perfect for light professional and casual use. Very easy to use with lots of features. The build in zoom lens is very very good. Great travel camera that captures movies and pictures with little fuss.

I've mainly been on auto, so I haven't explored all the features. First impressions: love it. I was pleased to find that the camera is easy and logical to operate. It has an extensive feature list, but if you just want to take a quick picture, you don't have to wade through a bunch of menus. I love the 42x optical zoom. Brings me right up to those animals and birds that would dash away if I tried to approach. Love the light sensitivity. I rarely need flash even inside in relatively dark settings. Love the GPS which adds lat. & long. readings to my pictures. Love that I can press 1 button to start a movie, and then take snapshots even as the movie continues. Love the quality of the pictures. I have slight tremors, and the image stabilization works great for me, even when zoomed in. I'm not a professional, so my needs are modest and this camera has been great. What I haven't figured out quite yet: When I'm in movie mode and zoom in, I may lose focus and I haven't yet figured out the manual adjustment. For now, I compensate by first zooming in and using auto focus before I start the movie. Then I zoom out, start the movie, and things stay in focus when I zoom in.
Also, manual controls seem awkward. Perhaps I haven't discovered the secret yet, but my initial impression is that the manual settings take a bit of time, so you can't be in a hurry for that shot.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

excellent experience

This is an excellent compact digital camera. It replaces my Canon SX40HS which is a like model, but has no integrated photo storage. NIKON compacts have Integrated storage which to ME is a huge selling feature. This means, if you grab your NIKON to capture that shot,, BUT you forget and leave the SD card in the computer,, NO PROBLEM, Nikon's integrated storage has you COVERED. This camera takes fantastic pictures and its telephoto ability is PHENOMINAL!. its flip back screen makes it IDEAL for "selfies" and it's night time capability makes this one of the finest compact digital cameras on the market. Good camera to begin with!

I bought this camera as a sort of intro camera to get into photography. The camera is decent for the price. It can only take 8-second long exposures, and won't let you adjust its settings even in manual mode. The picture quality is decent to look at, but becomes much too soft when zoomed in. The best camera I've ever owned.

I Love This Camera!!!!!!!!!!!! We took a family vacation to the beach in October and saw more wild dolphins than I've seen in my life. The problem was that my cell phone was no where near good enough to capture what was happening. I resolved then and there to get a decent camera. The zoom of the Nikon P520, along with it's wifi capabilities, drew me to this camera more that the competitors. I have not been disappointed. I can literally shoot the moon with this camera, and get amazing close ups! Even in video mode you can see the craters and land forms of the moon. The only thing I had to learn was, when shooting video, to start out already zoomed in on a very distant target. You can zoom back if needed and the refocus isn't nearly as long. The P520 puts professional power in the consumers hands

Picture quality is excellent....low light capability makes the flash truly optional....zoom is incredible, and as always Nikon Glass makes all the difference. Feature packed...way more than DSLRs...enough to make the pro happy. It' will take you a while to "Learn" all the camera's settings, but that is a good thing folks, it means your dealing with a sophisticated piece of equipment, or you can let the truly excellent auto function take care of all of it. Having run DSLR's before the p520 is a better value, and better for capturing life's moments, when you don't what to haul a large unwieldy Hunk of camera around.Vollständige Rezension lesen...
