Awesome
I bought 2 of these to rack all my drives and connect them to an Ubuntu server. They’re awesome. Everything worked, the caddies are nice, and they’re fast and easy to setup. I’m only using one of them for now, but I’m already thinking about buying a third to keep around so I don’t need to search for them in a few years when I need a new one. Vollständige Rezension lesen

If you need more room for storage for your server, look no further!
This shelf easily allowed me to expand my server's storage. It was really as easy as getting the right cable to attach to my server, adding rails (for support) and then sliding the server into my rack. I attached the cable, power and started it up and it powered on first try. I was easily able to add in hard drives on the fly and my main server detected them. I couldn't have asked for an easier setup.

Great product works as advertised
Great product, works wonderfully as a SAS extension from my Dell R720 with an external SAS card. All 24 drive slots are available to ProxMox.

Solid Buy
It simply works. Start it up, connect it to your controller card, and you're done. Boots reliably, cools well, keeping my hard drives at 35C under heavy load. You can't beat it for the price.

Super easy way to add 24 bays of SATA/SAS at a reasonable price point. Not super loud once throttled down and running.

Great for Data Hoarding
Before owning this, I used to dedicate a PC as a NAS. I'd throw a bunch of add in SATA cards to hook up drives and such. I basically got rid of that computer and now have just one box, that is hooked up to this disk shelf and it now does double duty as both my regular desktop and a file server (it's on 24/7).
I've tried up to 16TB SATA drives in it and haven't had a compatibility issue with any of the drives I've throw at it.
I followed the advice of another reviewer and bought a "LSI 9207-8e" HBA card and a with "SFF8088 to QSFP" cable to connect between the PC and the shelf. Worked out great.
The other bonus is that this thing isn't all that loud for what it is.

Used with LSI MEGARAID 9285
Worked exactly as I had hoped. Used Seagate EXOS 8TB SAS drives, attached to a LSI MEGARAID 9285-8E card.
Had to update my firmware on the LSI card to see the 4kn drives as 4kn.

Works great as DAS shelf
Works great with my LSI 9207-8e with SFF8088 to QSFP cable connected to my Linux server. Used with 10TB shucked WD drives.
