Honestly, the best hockey game (as of at least 2016)

Having played every hockey game thru 2016 I can honestly say this is by far the best, provided you tweak the game settings. I recommend bumping up the speed, accuracy, and hitting.

A large advancement from 2012 (more than the usual tiny incremental changes), NHL 13 is the first one that feels like you're controlling a real hockey player with momentum. The game manages to look very smooth and natural as well, including many subtle animations that somehow manage to not interfere with crisp gameplay and control. Skating around the opposition and executing a poke check are extremely satisfying, as is carving your way into the neutral zone or delivering a massive hit. The graphics are also a leap forward from 2012, to the point where it's hard to believe this is running on PS3/360. It honestly doesn't look much different from NHL 16.

The series hasn't changed much since 13 but it has changed for the worse. 14 is the same thing as 13 except your AI teammates won't stay onsides. And the two NHL titles released on the current gen so far are simply not as fun because the gameplay is a little less compelling. It seems to me that in an effort to add animations a bit of control and gameplay fun was sacrificed. And I'm not convinced that the extra animations actually even amount to a tangible improvement.

Super-fun Hockey Title (Stanley Cup Hawks, BABY!)

Was wanting a new (to me anyway) hockey game and found this. I had to have one that had pinnacle Blackhawks era :) Item was in great condition and was just what I needed. Thank you! GREAT GAME!! This is my first NHL game I ever purchased and I have to say I am very impressed.. The gameplay is excellent, the GMConnected League mode is in-depth and very good, and overall I would say this game is GREAT.. If you are a hockey fan great game to have. The motion of the player and realism is fantastic. There is some getting use to the shot and moving the player at the same time . More realistic than the old versions

Awesome game! skating is more realistic and shot glitch ttaken out. It takes some getting use to the skating but it makes it a lot more realistic. In ultimate team mode you don't lose your players to retirement anymore either.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

awesome game. Online play is a little slow tho. It's a fun game. Not many great features over past games, but the little touches make it a solid improvement in general
