Get the Kleenex Out!
First, the shipping of this brand new DVD was much faster than the original estimated date of arrival, which was fantastic! This will definitely be one of my favorite movies….it is a beautiful love story. Each of the characters adds a great dynamic to both lead characters. Will break your heart and stitch it back together...SO worth the pain!
I don't normally watch these types of movies, preferring sci-fi. But the trailer was totally captivating, the chemistry between these two absolutely perfect. So I got a box of tissues and chanced it. Absolutely no regrets. It will break your heart and stitch it back together all at the same time...and it's SO worth the pain.

my own true story
i love this movie because i am currently married to a disabled man but he is so precious to me. I dont see his disability but he is almost similar to the main male character in the movie. he also doesnt want to die as a disabled individual and he repeatedly says he does not deserve me......i am at a lost but i love him unconditionally and i try every chance i get to re mind him that i could have said no from the start if i felt he was less than a man or worse. in my eyes, he is the best man in this world. we have 4 children between us.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Fully accurate
I watched this movie and found it to be so engaging I saved it and also bought it, since my tv provider has been known to "lose" movies. I also have a very limited life style and while not nearly as restricted as "Will's" I can fully related to his feelings. I have watched this movie many times since as "Will" stated "he sits" so do I. Louisa is so funny I have a good time watching her antics. I love, love, love this flick. Great Movie
I missed this in the big theaters, for they only held it for one week. I thought, maybe it wasn't a good movie. But, it's a great, emotion-filled story with highs & lows. I Loved this Sweet, Sad Film!
I can't call the subject of one's right to die to be an entertaining topic for a film. But, I loved the personalities of the main characters, and the performances of the lead actors who portray them so perfectly. Being a fan of Emilia Clarke in "Game of Thrones", and Sam Claflin in "Hunger Games", I was astounded at their ability to play such polar opposite characters so convincingly. me before you had a very disappointing endig
In my opinion this movie should have had a more positive ending. there many people who have spinal cord injuries and those who become injured and the result of such injury is paralysis. I think it would have been a much better movie if it had ended with the man who was injured accepting the love from the young lady.
The actor Christopher Reeves wrote a book entitled Still Me. Although paralyzed from the neck down, Christopher Reeves was the same person he was before having the accident that left him paralyzed. even though he he had a spinal cord injury, Mr. Reeves still had his memories, his beliefs, his feelings, hopes & desires.
A person's brain is who s/he is and although her/his body is injured that person is still who s/he was before, mentally. The brain makes up a person's personality, their memory their understandings and perceptions and all the positive and negative things that make up who a person is. It's true that life is not always a bowl of cherries. We all encounter the pits many times in life some more than others.
I just think this movie had the opportunity to make a positive and powerful statement and it failed to do so. Finding real love in life whether a person is disabled or not is not always easy. Love can endure anything if one just allows it to do so.
Each person of course has the right to decide what they want to do with her/ his life. To me this movie just was very disappointing. Instead of lifting up, it brings down. if a person had just had a spinal cord injury, I definitely would not want to show them this movie . It would not be upbuilding or provide incentive to keep on going . I think it would make a person, in my opinion want to throw in the towel, give in and give up.
I think a better scenario would have been perhaps two people with spinal cord injuries and one making the decision to stop living, giving up and the other to make the decision to keep on going, and gaining victory over and extremely difficult situation. I can see the truth in the saying that where there's life there's hope but also where there's hope there's life.
Spinal cord injury can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. It's the result of an injury and accidents and injury do not discriminate. So, I think this movie would have been of better quality if the actor playing the man with the spinal cord injury would have persisted in living and persevered although experiencing hardship.Vollständige Rezension lesen
